Hi everyone! I have known for a long time that Acceptance is a precondition to Change. And in these 6 steps, we are asked to immediately recognize and permit whatever is going on within us. This is an Acceptance, rather than a denial. Sometimes it feels like it will take such a huge amount of courage to 'accept' what we have been running from for so long. Yet, this acceptance and looking at (whatever we need to look at) square in the face IS what allows for change. Just now, as i was doing lesson 4 homework, for the second week in a row, i saw it this way: To Recover (re-cover) is to remove the cover which is hiding our True self, the self BEFORE the lies we bought (and paid a price for). We move the covers away...the conditioning, the false beliefs... and there we are! Safe and sound! In the dictionary, 'Sanity' is defined as 'being of sound mind'. So, Recovery is the 'taking back' our inherent right, to feel safe and 'sound'. The changes that come about due to recovery HAVE to be wonderful! I'm experiencing many unsettling feelings along the way, but this journey is worth it all! These past few days, i felt that i was going backwards and had to convince myself that what was going on with me...is just a part of change...it's SUPPOSED to be difficult at times. Thank God for positive self-talk! Have a great day, Lindi
