Hi everyone,

I did super well with anxiety for a while, now, I'm not doing so well again.
Can anyone share any words of help. I'm expecting myself to make me feel better.
And, now.

It does get better than this I know.
I feel terribly about myself for falling off the anxiety "wagon"..sort of. I'm overwhelmed by troubles, and don't know where to begin.
I'm blaming it all on myself. I stopped eating well, stopped exercising well, and have been staying up late working. I started drinking coffee in the morning!! with no breakfast.
Lowering anxiety seems like a great place to start, but I don't know how well I'm doing.
Not much is helpful, except thinking about how well I was doing earlier this year.
I think I need to start over with listening
to the tapes.
I'm really upset with myself. I want to be relaxed more than anything.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to get that relaxed feeling back? I'm relapsing or
something.
I'm so upset I'm not perfect by now.
Does anyone know of a halfway point? I feel like I am comparing this to dieting and I don't want to do it again, or stay feeling terrible. I'm so anxious about what to do.
At least, I do believe following ideas in the program does help.

Chris,

You made a few very good points the lets me know right off the bat that you can ward off the anxiety in you life. For one, you stated that you did super well with anxiety for a while. Which indicates that if you did it once you can do it again.

Secondly, you acknowledged that you believe that following the ideas in the program really does help. Again, another positive.

For some reason those of us who suffer with anxiety often never do the things that we know will add comfort, joy and relief from the anxiety experience. Having said that, if you know following the ideas in the program work and you did so well in the past, why don't you keep doing the things that added to your life (i.e. following the program and keep acknowleding how well you are doing). That is really the basis of this whole program and the key to our recovery.

It sounds like to me that you are well on you way to beating this thing called anxiety. As with me and most of us on the forum, the key is just to keep refusing to give in to the control that anxiety has over your life. I think you are probably doing a wonder job of it. Somehow your words give me the distinct impression that you are definitely a person who can take charge of that aspect of your life.

STBAnxietyFree,

Thank for your response. You're inspiring. It is true that sometimes we know what will lesson anxiety, yet do not do those things.
Exercise
Sleep well
Eat healthy
Put ourselves first
Take time to relax
follow this program-self talk,
surround ourselves with positive
supportive people
Not, drink coffee, work into the night, rush,
eat terribly, and think of everything negative possible.
Thanks for your kind words,
Kris

I've even had to take time off from work any set myself on the right path so I can accomplish my goals not someone elses!
