I know Lucinda says much of this is about embarrassing myself, but what about being (unjustly) embarrassed by others? Like riding with someone who doesn't drive the way you think they should, or doing other things they way you think they should? I guess that goes into the category of "Be less affective and more effective", right?
OK, now how do I do that??

Thanks for any help.

Fred, if someone is driving in an Unsafe way-hey, you are in the car, speak up. But if others are taking a different direction than you would...so what? If they are doing a job differently than you would, so what? I found that there is more ways than mine to do just about anything. Smiler

How to be less affected: review lesson 4, talk to yourself in a reassuring way - we don't always need to control things, people...etc. Take a breath! Breathe in for 2 seconds and out for 4 seconds. Ask yourself if what is going on realllllly matters in the grand scheme of things. Practice letting go in small situations. Compliment others for how they do things. We don't always have to be the one in charge, in command...

I had a letter from a woman in Maine many years ago and she said, "My life is sooo much easier now that I have given up control of the Universe." Smiler

There really is nothing to be embarrassed about in the situations you describe...maybe I misunderstood you? If you mean someone is doing something like trying to put diesel fuel into their gas tank...it sure is ok to smile and say,"I don't think that will work." But there is no need to be embarrassed about a good deed nor is there any reason to be embarrassed For them. We have Enough things to be concerned about without taking on Other people's emotions and actions. Smiler

Best to you, Carolyn
