I found this quote in susan jeffers' book called embrace uncertainty page 51 I thought to share this quote with you all...
"Buddism tells us that while pain is a natural part of every life, we can end the suffering by letting go of our need for things to be a certain way. This is the ultimate in wisdom and freedom. Most problem aren't problem. It's only our attachment to things being other than they are that makes them problems. Attachment brings suffering. Once we drop the attachment, the suffering falls away." This was the chapter where it was discussion about expectations... Thought to share... "You're not a failure if you don't make it; you're success because you try" By Susan Jeffers http://www.deafanxiety.blogs.com |

GAA,
SO VERY TRUE. What a beautiful statement! So glad you shared it. I am not a buddhist, but I started to take a liking to their thought process. It has helped me with my anxiety. I really think I am goin to pick up Susan's Book, seems like many on the forums LOVE her book. Thanks! Love and prayers, LizB "Afterall, everybody only hears what he understands." by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe |

What a great quote. It could be life changing if we followed it! Think I'm going to pick up that book too. I am very attatched to how I think things ought to be. My daughter has been sick wth depression and anxiety for two years and i suffer because of how I think things are supposed to be. Letting go is definately the ultimate wisdom. Thanks for that! Something to work on!! Peace... Mudgy
