not sticking to the program, really upsetting me|

hey, im in lesson 4, even though i never really finished lesson 3. its all so challlenging and i thought id move on and keep trying as i go along cuz a week is never enough to do it all. i really love the program and im a strong believer in its potential for me but the hope of a better life just doesnt seem to be motivating me anymore. i have very little discipline and im having trouble keeping up, following the schedual, and exercising the skills when i should like when im down or stressed or worried, or obsessing. think i started lesson 4 two weeks ago and only looked at it a few times. i dont know how to help myself, though of course the only answer is staring me in me the face which is that if i follow the program things will improve slowly but surely, so how can i get myself to do whats best for me? these days i never choose whats best, rather i keep going after immediate pleasure and relief which not only isnt long lasting, often makes me feel worse. any advice or similar problems would be of comfort to me, thanx for your time.

I am in therapy, so I have help, but I think you ahould do the best you can. Use the tools but do not get upset if you don't fell ebtetr right away. Progress, not Perfection.

Dear Dare...
Motivation is highly overrated!...ACTION is the key... but you say, "I have to be motivated in order to do that action thing." NO-all that is needed is to mentally take yourself by the collar and drag yourself to your special spot (where you do the program). When you would do this would be written on paper and signed by you and that is "sacred" time. (NOt to be touched, negotiated with...as valuable as the time you spend brushing your teeth!) Now do it ! How can the program work if you don't DO it. If you want to feel better you know that its what you have to do. Consider it a have to not a want to or need to. The program does work.
