I have finished week three and have moved on to week 4 but I am starting to stress that I am not doing the lesson and homework exactly right. That I am not writing down my scary thoughts often enough. Though I sometimes think that if I stopped to write all of them down I would be doing nothing else. So basically my question is this: Will I still get the benefits from the program even if I do not do everything exactly as the lesson/homework call for.

Yes! Remember this program is a learning tool. Part of our anxiety is perfectionism. There is no perfect way to do the program so take it at your own pace. It is overwhelming at first when you start because you are doing things differently and are aware of so much more. I like the fact that it kept me busy and moving forward. Enjoy the learning process! You sound like me. I'm just beginning week 4 and I've done it mostly the way the book says and I feel about 85% (I'm happy with that right now- very happy). At first, I was going to stay in week 3 until I mastered it. But that was the old me- I wanted to master everything.

From what I've read, you will get better so long as you stick to it and keep the main principles in mind.

I've gone from being afraid of jogging (thought I'd have a heart attack while out on a long run) Costco, Walmart and foggy days to, now, only being moderately anxious before a big staff meeting. Costco, Walmart, foggy days and long runs have no power to make me frightened. If this is working for me it can work for anybody.

Keep plugging ahead and don't try to be perfect......

God bless you
