I am about to leave home and go to school. I have been working very hard to get there and now the anxiety has started.'What if' I have an anxiety attack in this new situation? How will I calm myself down in front of all these people and keep my self calm? I am on the program,week four and it has helped alot but now i feel I am going backwards. I am excited but anxious at the same time. Can anyone help?
Megan, Congratulations on being on week 4. I finished the program & started to have some anxiety and felt like you, that I'd be back to the beginning. Just remember that these skills you have learned will stay with you. If you have an anxiety attack at school, you will be fine. Just listen to tape 2 and remember to breath - in for 2 out for 4. It's normal to feel anxiety when going through something new like leaving home and starting school. Be patient with yourself...Good luck!
Ally, Thank you so much for your reply. It is so great to hear words like that coming from someone else instead of saying it to yourself. I will try as hard as I can to use the skills that I am now learning. Thanks again, Megan
