i just started noting my negative thoughts in my nobook today at work. wow! what a negative person!!i did not have time to rephrase into positives until after work( i hope this is acceptable) some were kinda funny later on when looking at them. they were so untrue. at the time they seemed valid but upon second glance they were so totally invalid. my question isthis...
am i only to note negative thoughts i have about myself or also those i have of other people? certainly im not the only one out there that has unfavorable thoughts about co-workers, customers and such. am i? so do i write those negatives i feel about them so as to resolve those in some way or just work on negatives of myself? |

You're certainly not the only one with negative thoughts about other people! I have a hard time with that because I am a very perfectionistic type and am always seeing the "better" way to do or say something with myself and others. I am truly judgmental with all of us! I think these thoughts count too, because for me they really escalate any angry feelings I'm carrying.
I haven't started with the notebook yet--I will take it with me to work tomorrow and be blown away as well! However, I have to say that the first 2 lessons have been such a help and I'm feeling much calmer inside already. I hope the same goes for you! |

Hi Rose,
I am on week three (for the second time around) and doing much better with it this time. I would write down negative thoughts about others as well as yourself. When I began doing this, I realized that many of the things I thought about people made a big difference in my mood. For example, I work with addicts and when one of them would come to my office and be rude or demanding, it would put me in a bad mood. When I realized that it was their problem and not mine, I felt 100% better!! I found my relationships with co-workers as well as family got alot better.
