I don't know about all of you, but I pretty much collect inspirational and positive, affirming quotes. I write down ones I like on index cards and carry them with me, and some I memorize. Anyway, I just came across this quote on-line, and I thought it was so beautiful that I wanted to share it:
"A pile of rocks ceases to be a pile of rocks when somebody contemplates it with the idea of a cathedral in mind." --Antoine de Saint-Exupery Makes me think that maybe our "problems" could come to be much more if we looked at them from a different angle. |

Wanted to add another nice quote I just found:
"...and the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud, was more painful than the risk it took to blossom..." --Anais Nin I just received word that I was accepted and will get a very nice financial package from a very good graduate school that is far from home. It would require me to be away from my husband for six months, and only see him maybe once a month. But, it's a much better school than the one I had originally intended to attend. I'm keeping this quote in mind as I make my choice... |

Thanks Lori for sharing that quote it actually gave me a good mid-day uplift, I will definitely write it down and carry it with me as well. Congrats on being accepted and making the decision to go to the other school. Have you been through the program or are you on week 3? either way you're an inspiration...

There is a quote from a song by an artist I understand from another post you are familiar with. Her name is Dar Williams. She does this great song as you probably know called "What Do You Hear in These Sounds" The line in the song that really speaks to me is the part at the end where she talks about the "wall coming down" and how when it did she saw that she was not the "only one" to suffer and that basicly everone has there problems and no body's life is perfect. An other very inspirational group to me are the Indigo Girls. Just about every lyric they write is inspiration to some degree. One line from a song by them that has been very helpful to me is "this time don't assume anything, just GO" I know it sounds strange but that sentince can have a wonderful effect on anticipatory anxiety. Stay cool and always try to stay calm Mellie |

Mellie--
I love the Indigo Girls. Their music is very happy and uplifting. I'm not familiar with the line you mention, but it's great. It does seem like it will be very helpful with anticipatory anxiety. Thanks-- Lori |
