I am on my third week now. I seem to be doing okay and progressing on schedule. I am anxious from time to time and am practicing my techniques like I am suppose to and I calm myself down. My problem that I am having now is that I cannot go to sleep for nothing. I use my relaxation tape and I have even gotten another one to help more. I don't take any medications at all. What is the deal. I feel spacy all day because I am so stinkin exhausted. Does anyone else have these problems?

Lot of people with sleep problems. You are not alone. The skills in the program will help with that also. Need to calm yourself down before resting. Stop forcing it. Stop scaring yourself. When your anxiety subsides, you will sleep better too.

Hi! I too have problems sleeping many nights; my mind continues to race long after my body is ready to call it quits. My doctor suggested I try taking melatonin. You can get it at any Eckerds or Walmart. The lowest strength, which he recommended, is 300 mcg. Take one at night before you plan to sleep; it is a natural supplement that helps get your sleep cycle back on track. He said that I can take one every night or just on the nights I need it, and so far it seems to be working pretty well for me. My mom also read in a magazine that spraying lavendar body spray like stuff on your pillow will help; something about that scent is supposed to make you sleepy. Good luck, and sweet dreams!

I have problems with sleep sometimes too, I like sleepytime tea by celestial seasonings, it's very relaxing.

Thanks for the input. My doctor just started me on amntyptoline(spelling ?). I take 10 mg 1 hour before bed. I really helps me sleep a lot. Only problem is that I don't want to have to rely on sleeping pills to go to sleep. I don't want to become dependant. Maybe I will try the melatonin. I asked my doctor about it before, but he said that it is just for people who are doing like shift work and having a hard time adjusting to the schedule. I don't know anything except that I want to sleep. I get so desperate that I will do anything.
