I've been working the program for roughly 3 weeks. I use session 3 a lot. I have made some progress and the last 2 days were pretty good. But, as soon as I waken I check my mood and start thinking and feel a darkness come over me. Has anyone experienced this and does anyone have suggestions? I don't lay in bed. I get up and do something.
Will this program truly work for me? And, can you skip around the program if a topic seems pertinent to the situation?
I posted a question a few days back but there weren't any replies. Sorry if I was too negative - was having a rough time.
Hi, Spend a week on each lesson. Even if you don't feel as though you finished it, move on to the next lesson. The point is not to get stuck in one particular lesson seeking perfection.
Mood swings in the morning are just bad habits. You're expecting them, and, in doing so, you bring them on. Immediately upon waking up read something positive that affirms your commitment to the program and getting better. This will help.

You're right, I am expecting them - the mood swings. Thanks for the suggestion and will not spend as much time on one lesson. I'll check into the book, too.
gulliver, I completed the program a year ago and now am doing it over with a coach. I did do each lesson for a week but also used the tape for whatever struggle I was going thru. Now I'm totally focusing on the lesson at hand. I do still struggle with those feelings first thing in the morning. I have a DVD player in the bedroom and sometimes put it on while dressing or still in bed to get positive feedback right away. Ovecoming negative thoughts is an ongoing process but hopefully will get less and less. What was your question that no one answered?

Thanks for your reply, too. On 11/29 I posted a forum/question about what was happening to me and asking whether or not it was anxiety or depression or both.
