This is where I really struggle...I have learned A LOT from this program that has helped me in my life in a few short weeks...but one of my big issues right now is the health issues.
I have very real migraines, which I get stroke symptoms from, trouble with abdominal pain and stool problems (which is in the process of earning me a colonoscopy if they don't clear up soon), and now notice I have swollen lymph nodes. I am having a really hard time not getting carried away with negative thoughts about these symptoms I have...can anyone give me advice on how you deal with those and replace your negative dialogue/fear with a positive? TIA! Dawn |

daughterofsarah,
I have a migrane right now while im typing this. The symptoms of migrane aren't stroke signs, they are signs your getting a migrane. They actually have meds out there now that prevent migranes. Ive had them since i was 5yrs old. My mother had them , my grandmother had them. I have two grown children and my son has them. I even has a sneaky idea my youngest granddaughter has them. Please dont freak out about them. Watch what you eat, watch the chocalate, the red beans, any nitrates such as sandwich meats,(full of nitrates) also MSG, stay away from that. Lots of foods will trigger migranes, but mostly Stress is a HUGE cause. Talk to your doc,, there honestly is real meds out there now that stop them before they start.... I wish you the best. Hi all...the joy of hypochondriasis...gotta love it! I have been dealing with the whole health anxiety thing for the last year..had panic attacks and anxiety since the age of 13. The neurological symptoms are the worst! I get them the worst around my period and I believe that I have menstrual migraines. Honestly, I think the health anxiety is the worst kind!! But to help me get through those thoughts I just talk to myself, positively of course, and say "you know what this is, your symptoms aren't any different than they have been...stop scaring yourself and keep going." Another little mantra I use when I am rock bottom is "I am strong; there is nothing wrong" I actually wrote that on the palm of my hand during some of my darkest days. And always remember...breathe slowly and if you can, go for a walk or work in the yard or do something to make your mind wander off of your health. Hope this helps! It is nice to know we have each other to struggle together with....

I have migraines too and in the summer they are worse. The wormer and brighter is it the worse my head hurts. I also have scary symptoms of stroke but I know it's just something to worry about. I always know in the back of my mind I'm fine like a little voice telling myself to calm down. But the more you practic being positive the easier it gets. Good luck , stay positive.

Yes, migraines have been a way of life for over 26 years. They are not bad now, but for ten years I had at least one a week that put me to bed in a darkened room. Now I have other symptoms that scare me such as a racing heart, various unexplained aches and pains and feeling very tired. I try to remember that it is just the anxiety and then think of something else. You are not alone and neither am I and that thought does help.

i understand. i have stomach problems. and like you i do have actual symptoms but i tend to blow them out of proportion. i'm working on that myself. Look at it this way, your going to have problems, everyone does and if they don't they will as they age. But this program could help us Handle our health problems better and we can learn to not over-react. At least that is what i'm hoping for. Just wanted to say i understand i'm going through the same thing now.
