I'm really finding session 3 hard. I'm trying to take my time with this session and not to be so hard on myself. This is really difficult for me. I am really beating myself up - I try to replace the negative thoughts with positive but on some of them I don't have a postive. I am putting all this pressure on myself to get this session right because the call it the "hinge" session and that just gives me more anxiety and makes me afraid that I will fail.

I know I am probably finding this session so hard because it's probably the thing I need to work the most on. I realize that I've been beating myself up with my negative thoughts for years. I'm afraid I will be stuck on session 3 for weeks and get discouraged - wait I'm already getting discouraged and I so don't want to give up on this program because I need this program to get better and get my life back.

If anyone can give me some suggestions and input on what helped or is helping you with the self talk and negative thinking it would mean a lot.

Hi Faith2,

Listen session 3 is for you to work on not master it in 1,2,3,4 weeks it takes time after life long programming although you can reverse the negative programming with time.Your time,little steps at a time.Most important thing you can give to yourself is time to heal.If you give yourself permission to have time to work on yourself anxiety level should lower.Some say babies should walk at a certain age,some walk earlier and some walk later,think of it like that !!!

This was a hard lesson for a lot of us, and I agree with Sit-N-Spin. You do not have to do the session perfectly (as we all like to be perfect). Just do the best you can and move on. You can come back to Session 3 over and over again. Each time, you will find it easier and easier to do. Believe me, the first time I listened to it and tried to do the tasks of replacing negative thoughts with positive thoughts, I was so overwhelmed that I posted on it too. As for the ones you are having a hard time replacing, what would you say to your bestfriend that had the same negative thought? Keep on!
