Btw, session 3? Not easy!

BabyStepz here, you may have seen be pop online to the chat rooms a few times, I'm was also known as ShiningStar (for those who've met me before).

So, as much as Lucinda Bassett pointed out on the tape that this session could be the hardest one, it didn't sink in until the end of the week when I thought, gee... I didn't change all that much in my negative thinking yet.. Should I stay on it for 2 weeks? then it became 3 weeks? 4 weeks?! I forgot "It doesn't have to be perfect" lol, or else I wouldn't move on in the program.

Well, when I was in the trenches of my battlefield ridden mind, I gotta be honest, I have a lot of work to do with it. I discovered something that might be of interest to everyone who reads this (so enough about me already lol!)

It's generally agreed that become a doctor is hard, an astronaunt, a professor, a neurologist, even a promininant business person is no walk in the park... But the HARDEST thing to become is: YOURSELF! (surprised ya huh? Nah, I kno u all may kno that, and some of u may not so keep on reading)

The hardest thing to become is you, think about it... When we start to grow up, we have to conform to a certain way, look a certain way, be a certain way, THINK a certain way, even sometimes breathe a certain way (not to much noise now, ppl might think you're breathing too loud, and you won't want that Wink) . Somewhere along the road each and everyone of us may forget who we are. So as we're travelling along our paths in life, the road ahead starts to become foggy, there are pebbles, stones, even mountains in our way now, and often times we trip (God forbid some of us may fall off the mountain), hurt ourselves, and no one is around to pick us up and dust us off, now that's depressing. But hey that's life u know, everyone has their own paths to follow and pebbles to avoid, and sometimes it's not that people don't WANT to help, it's just that they can't..

So what do we do to get a clear path again? Obvious answer is to be ourselves, but HOW?!
I mean, if we are ourselves things just get easier. Once we taste even a drop of what it feels like to be content in ourselves, it's gonna be HARD not to be ourselves. As Lucinda says, our body doesn't know the difference between being addicted to what's good from being addicted to what's bad (and we all know how hard bad addictions are to break). Once we take that first breath in life AS OURSELVES, things DO get a little be easier. You'll discover what you like (and most of the time we're good at what we like to do), we are focused on our selves POSITIVELY, and we attract the right people in our life, not to mention kicking the bad one's to the curb, and we're just, you kno, content!

But HOW do we be ourselves? I don't have a guide on me.. But, I have one sentence:
1.) Discover what you like.

Anyone care to add on? It'll help me, and a lot of ppl (it feels good to help)

Hi.
2.) Discover that you like yourself.
3.) Keep puting up that mental stop sign when u have a negative thought, (negative/positive)
4.) Keep working session 3.
5.) Before we can "be ourselves" I think we have to Love Ourselves. This is one step I've been working very hard at and it seems to be helping me see a lot about me.
Thanks for sharing, I look forward to hearing more about your journey. lol

I'll add on Smiler
6) Start taking care of yourself as if you would take care of someone you love with all your heart.

7) Don't concern yourself with other people's thoughts or opinions- focus on your own feelings.

8) If it feels good, do it. If it hurts, STOP. This definately applies to negative/positive thinking.

Good luck to all of you. It's so nice to know that we aren't alone in our quest for freedom. God Bless!

Believing you can is everything.

It is hard! But it sounds like you are reaching out positively for help and the advise our peers have given you is good. Hang in there and know that you are not alone. We are all experiencing that or we would not be here.
