I love the program. It has helped me so much. But last night I had a severe panic attack and feel edgy today. Is that normal to not be perfectly cured. And should I go to lesson 4 or stay on three for a little extra time? Any advice would be wonderful. A little setback has totally crushed my spirit.

Hi dreamer!
I think it is natural to have set-backs, or as Lucinda calls them, growth spurts. If you didn't have them, you wouldn't be able to practice what you're learning! I suggest you listen to tape #3 one more time and go on. As for being perfectly cured, I have gone through the program and reall done well. But I still will have an occasional "growth spurt," and after I get through it I actually feel pretty good about myself. Because life is not easy, and it's not gonna get easier just because of these tapes. BUT you now are learning skills that will help you deal with the ups and downs of life. Good luck to you! Helen |

I was on tape #13 and had a setback. Not a major panic attack but that edgy feeling and stomach problems. So I decided to review #1,2, and 3. Im doing better, but I guess this is going to be a life changing journey and it will take a while. Keep trying!
Sincerely, Reena |

Hi dare to dream,
I just read your post about setbacks. I have a hard time with them too!I guess that's the only way to get through this we haveexpect setbacks, but with our tools that we have we have now learned how to deal with them. Iam in topic 3 under fear of driving,Iam backcomb. If you what to know about me I'm in there. I am on tape 9 about worry and quilt. I think the program is great, I have a ways to go. I trying to recover from a driving struggle. I had a bad morning today Wednesday and I'm trying not to beat myself up. I haven't had a panic attack or felt like one in awhile. I hate the feeling. I have to admit they still scare me. I don't know why. I started with this when I was 34, and I am now 52. I have recovered from alot of issues, but I still have some to go. I went to a program much like this in OrangeCounty it was 22 weeks long and it was a group that met every week. It costabout 1200.00 dollars. It really helped me. We didn't do tapes though. Our spouses or mom or boyfriend attended also. That helped cus it helped your spouse to understand. My husband and I met when he was 14 years old and we have been married for 31 years, He is really supportive. Well I just want you to know that setbacks are normal try not to let them discourage you to much. Bye for now, Backcomb |
