Along with your healthy lunch...take just 5 minutes after lunch and reflect on how you've looked at yourself and others so far today.

Examples of some self talk that takes the quality of our daily life to the negative side, "I just can't wear my clothes right...I look awful...Jean looked at me as if she dislikes me...I bet she is a fake."

Just reading those statements makes me slump in my seat. How about you?

How much better we'd feel if we changed the direction of our thoughts! "I am well groomed. If I need some advice, I will ask a trusted friend to give me some tips. No big deal.(NBD) Maybe Jean had some bad sausage for breakfast! I will smile at her the next time our paths cross. Maybe she could use a smile."

After reflecting on how you have been treating yourself all morning...resolve to look at yourself and others with compassionate, loving, accepting, and encouraging eyes.

Let's share how this exercise made a difference in our week/day.

Making change fun, Carolyn

Negative thinking is one of the things I do best! Positive thinking is what I want to do best. I feel overwhelmed thinking about carrying one more thing with me to jot notes down but I am going to do it. I have only had a couple of knots in my stomach since I started the program. Getting on the computer has been the stresser but I believe that will change the more I use it and say, "I know I can, I know I can!"
I listen to my cd on the way to and from work and it is real helpful. I also like reminding myself that "I am good enough today." Like in 'I am good enough for this job, or anything else that comes up in my life today.' It feels good to say it and take one day at a time. Hope all of you are telling yourselves that you are good enough, too, because you are!
