First off I should say that I have no anxiety about driving whatsoever and it is what I do for a living. So considering I spend so much time behind the wheel there are times when I have anxious episodes about other things while I'm driving. So my problem is when it comes to step #5 (Get Busy and Distract). This gets a little tricky while driving as there is not really much I can do. I have a radio in my work vehicle and sometimes that helps but it can be difficult to "distract myself" by focusing intently on what I'm hearing when I'm trying to drive. In my personal vehicle it is not even an option though as some loser felt that they needed my car stereo more than I did. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips?

I also have a long drive to the city and will get those anxious episodes when my mind wanders. It helps me to get back in the present, I will roll my window down or call a friend on the phone and i have even done compasionate self talk. I feel for you though, i dont like those feelings!!!!
