I have recently been experiencing anxiety episodes I feel like I can't control. I use to have panic attacks that would come on then the anxiety was gone. Now when I feel a panic attack come on my body or I (not sure) will not let it come on and it stays for hours (panic,fear, body symptoms,ect.) During these episodes no matter how much I relax and keep telling myself it's anxiety it stays and I feel like I have no control over it. I feel like I am going crazy during the episode and it can last up o 6 hours!! It is scary to me. Can anyone give advice on how to over come these new symptoms?

I've had this and in the beginning I didn't realize that I was having obsessive scary thoughts while it was happening. My mind would race and I couldn't stop it long enough to do the breathing. Once I realzied it was obsessive scary thoughts and learned to deal with those then those type of panic attacks stopped.

I had something similar to that on Saturday. It started about 2pm. It was weird because it would get really bad, then mellow out for a little while, then shoot back up again. this went on until I finally went to bed. I have found that the more social I am the less I get my attacks. try calling a friend or family member, and just talk about anything. I will get wrapped up in a conversation and not think about the panic, then it is gone.
