I live in Oklahoma City and I'm about an hour away from my town gettin romped by tornadoes. This doesn't even phase me, but the fact that I have to go to my cousins wedding in two weeks scares me to death. The whole social scene or event scares me to death

hi cap77
I can imagine how you must feel around a large group of people.. My advice for you is to tell yourself you are going to be okay, everyone at the wedding will be very warm and friendly to me. Most importantly sweetheart don't forget ur breathing exercises, they work wonders. God bless.

also...don't forget to tell yourself that it's ok to be anxious. Imagine how the bride and groom must feel! lol. Try to see some humor in the situation. And always knwo that if you need to take a breather just leave the room for a few minutes and do some breathing and relaxation. I know the feeling though, I'm always scared of the small stuff. Never the big. I live about an hour outside of Boston, and I'm more scared of getting a panic attack in the car, than actually getting in a car accident. Isn't that strange?

Hi Capp
I certainly understand "Scared of the small stuff"-- I work/ teach classes in a men's maximum security prison on a daily basis; most people would say that would cause them intense anxiety right?? Well, for me- I get scared that my apartment might blow up when I am at work and my pet bunny will die, or that my parents will have a heart attack, that I will choke on my lunch while at a staff meeting and Ill be embarrassed.. I guess it's kind of funny the things that I worry about/vs. the stuff I should worry about. On the other hand, I feel unusually comfortable in a prison setting- go figure..Smiler
