Hello all. I am listening and learnding on tape numero two-o. It struck me as interesting because there are so many discussions and emphasis on how WE create our own anxiety but truthfully I can honestly remember and do believe that my anxiety was caused by taking a certain med or meds that caused my anxiety which I am still having to this day. Can anyone else relate? Has anyone else got through it? How? Thank yuh!

Hello Josh
I had a situation when I was in the hospital for an illness that caused me to have anxiety attacks. I took a mediaction for my stomach which was prescribed by my MD however whenever I would take it I would have an all out anxiety attack. To counter act it the nurse in the hospital gave me Xanax. Well I was seeing BArney the dinosaur it was horrible!!! So the next day I took the stomach med again and yet again I had an attack... I then went home and took it again... I became really concerned because I was extremely anxious so I looked up the side effects of this particular medication and the first warning was "if you experience anxiety call your MD immediately" I guess I was not going crazy after all . So my best answer to you is yes I believe meds do have side effects that can bring about anxiety I know first hand I had this happen PJ |

would it seem logical that if a med caused anxiety then after stopping the med woudlnt the anxiety go away? Or did your anxiety happen to hit when you were taking a med? I know many people with anxiety get anxiety just from the thought of taking any medication. Just some thoughts.
