Are headaches a common symptom with anxiety? I think they probably are, but my problem is that I have small headaches but I didn't think I was anxious at the time, can you get headaches when you think you aren't anxious then? Thanks!

amanda, headaches can be caused by a number of things. I suffer from anxiety and depression, I get little nagging headaches that seem to linger throughout the day then I finally get sick of it and take a pain reliever, doesn't always cure it though. Stress is a key ingredient to headaches which also causes tention. I have only been in the program for a week, hopefully the further I get through the program the less headaches I suffer from.

Stress can certainly cause headaches. Most of mine are considered tension headaches. If I'm tight in the shoulders, I almost always get a headache. Ibuprofen is my friend, unfortunately.
Using the relaxation tape helps quite a bit, and regular exercise. I know headaches are awful to live with. Good luck! |

I get headaches when I get stressed. I also get anxious when I'm stressed. I used to have to take ibuprofen almost daily. I have to say when I learned some coping techniques and reduced stress, headaches was one of the first things to disapear for me.
