Mike,
I found your info interesting. Especially the bully analogy that makes sense. I am not where I want to be, but I am so grateful I am not where I was. God brought me to this program I am convinced & HE will change me for the better.

This way I can help others find their way. Love of the spirit which leads to love of ourselves(this I all ways had a hard time with because of past guilt). Then we can pass this on to others.

Life is better everyday.

Layha Rae,

Thanks for the reply. That bully analogy was pretty good eh? I found it on that website.

It's good that you have made progress there is just one thing i'm concerned with. You mentioned that God brought you the program which i agree with but really both of you will change you for the better, don't downplay your role in the situation. I mostly say this because it is extremely important to realize you have power, power over your thoughts and feelings and you're taking it back from anxiety!

I hope everything goes well for you. Guilt has been very difficult for myself too but when you realize the limitations you have as a human, it makes it alot easier to let it go.

Mike,

I really appreciate the time you take to define specifically how to deal with problems. I'm amazed at your insights and grateful that you post them. I'm finding you all over the forums today and it means the world. I'm having trouble continuing, but I really don't want to give in anymore. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired!

Celyon,

I have had to separate myself from negative people in my life. Unfortunately, that means almost everyone. I had no idea what a negative atmosphere I had created for myself. I'm in a pretty lonely place right now, the limbo that exists between the old and the new. But I have so much to gain.

I didn't think you were rambling at all. I would love to follow your progress because I'm only on week 6 (anger) and having a tough time with it. It really helps to see that other people weathered the storm and got through, even if it took more than once.

Thanks for sharing your story too.

It's all my pleasure Bees4me. My way isn't necessarily the right way for everybody though keep in mind. I'm really appreciative of my insights as well and i'm glad i can use them to not only help me but help others too.

The Anger week does tend to be challenging. I've cracked a few times on that lesson.

If it helps, having anxiety and depression we are suppose to having struggles with expressing anger. At least until we change it. If you have a hard time even being angry and you explode in a fit of rage then great! If you take your anger out by smashing glass Great! What i'm trying to say is, allow yourself to get angry! If you are concerned about being angry around others just do it by yourself Smiler

As much as we need a good side of us, we also need a dark side of us in order to survive in this world. The dark side (not Starwars!!) is like our protection, and our teacher. It is the dark side that gives us the gift of anger. The Assertiveness lesson will help you to aim it appropriately.

If you are a pressure cooker (as Carolyn mentioned it in one of the lesson cds) and you hold your anger in, just let it out. If you have to, warn people first saying something like "I may over-react or seem very angry for the next short while but this has nothing to do with you"

Hope that helps

Mike

Mike,
Thanks for the input. Yes I do have control & I am using it more each & everyday.
I am feeling anxious the past couple of days. My youngest daughter is 21 & having a baby in 3 weeks. She will move back home for a few weeks so she can have help with her. I know I should just think of this a excitement, which I don't yet. I will start today to tell myself I am excited about this new chapter in my life.\
Bless Ya

That's awesome, I'm sure you will be excited once it happens. Keep in mind if you tell yourself you should think of this a excitement you will feel like crap if you don't. If you are depressed then it is less likely to feel as excited because it is hard for people suffering with depression to feel anything besides negative feelings.

It would be ideal to feel that way and maybe you will when she has the baby, how does that feel in comparison to the should?

Personally, I think praying is nothing more than talking to yourself, and it opens a gateway to the subconscious. The "answers" you get are only your own mind telling you what you already know. I don't believe for a nanosecond there is some omnipotent deity out there who may or may not listen, who may or may not care, and who may or may not decide to answer, and even if it answers, may or may not be in agreement with our wishes. I put my faith and trust in what is, not what may or may not be. I refuse to allow some unknown to have that much influence over every nuance of my existence.

Disco,
You certainly are free to your opinion & beliefs.
There are a lot of us that do believe in a higher power on this site. We believe in our soul & spirit that there is something much bigger than us directing our lives.
Good luck with the program it is wonderful & it does work.

I agree prayer changes things and we can change ourselves through prayer, it is the waiting that is hard.

Disco58, I am praying for you to have an open mind to a Heavenly Father who answers prayer. Try it and pray, what do you have to lose. God Bless You. I have seen many blessing and aswered prayers in my life.
