I won't say I'm down that I have to start the program again...I'm upset that I'm having such terrible anxiety. Two months ago I had a baby. I felt great after I had her. Two weeks ago I started having dizziness and the anxiety started from there. I went to the Doctor and they tell me it's stress. I don't see how having stress can cause dizziness. I love chapter 2. It helps me relax when the anxiety comes on but I just hate this dizziness thing. I swear it's making me nuts and scared. I need a pep talk.

First of all, congratulations on the baby. They are a wonderful blessing and joy. As for that anxiety and dizziness. Yes anxiety can cause dizziness and will. I am on week 12 and from the beginning I was told to do the program and then do it again. I know that I have missed parts of it, and am actually anxious (positive anxious) to do it again, I know I must have missed GETTING some of it.

You didn't say how long has it been since you completed the first time around with the program?

Good luck to you and hang in there.

Amy Kat,
I know it's hard to believe, but stress can cause a whole host of physical symptoms. I've had dizziness and that strange "floating" feeling. Also had stomach pains and went to the doctor and it was ALL just from the anxiety and stress. Keep doing the positive self talk and believe your doctor. It will get better!

Hi Amy Kat,

Congratulations on your beautiful new baby and blessings to you both. The dizziness will pass. I know it can't pass fast enough for you right now, but you are using the right tools reviewing chapter 2. If there are physical contributors to your stress and anxiety like lack of sleep and the strain on your body following birth and healing, then the dizziness should pass over the next few weeks. If something emotional is the main contributing factor, you might give extra attention to practicing the "acceptence" step in chapter 2. That is really the key to bursting the panic bubble and bringing you fully back into the present moment.

I think you are a very brave, strong woman and doing just what you need to take good care of yourself and your new baby. Keep it up!

Hi Amy Kat,

Congradulations on your new baby girl! It is now time for you to relax and enjoy your new bundle of joy. I know life is a bit different now you have more responsibilities with her and at times could be very stressful. I remember Lucinda saying on one of my tapes that having a baby can be very stressful because of the commitment. Just like getting married, starting a new job or having a business all these things are stressful. LIFE IS STRESSFUL.

Lesson 3 talks about Negative and Positive Dialgue how we think and our attitude is what gives us anxiety, stress and panic attacks. We have to learn to calm ourselves down relax more. Try to have a positive attitude about your new baby, all the good moments you will have together. And all those times she will bring you such joy!!

Wishing you well,

Dona Dry

I am also starting the program again. I was doing so good then it comes back to me. I know what you are going through. It's frustrating, it seems as though, my mind forgets what it has learned. Just, pick up the book and start from the beginning. When I went through the program the first time I started to feel better and never fully finished the program. I got all out of order. Now, like you, I am going to start from page one. I just have to make sure that I can find all of my materials. Good luck!!!

Hello Eddie, just wanted to let you know that they recommend that you go through the program 2 times anyway. So don't feel bad, I just finished the program and taking my 2 week break. To be honest I can't really wait, I sort of feel lost without it.............But at the same time, I feel better than I have in a long time.

hang in there.

Dizziness is horrible... I know what you mean: dizziness is my main anxiety symptom and it freaks me out. But over the last 2 nights (when I usually have an attack) I haven't been as afraid of the dizziness. I have noticed some relief.. not a lot, but some.
Keep hanging in there and try not to worry about when it comes on... just don't fight it and see what happens. I have to keep reminding myself, "don't worry, it can not hurt you!"- I'll be thinking of you!

Anette, Thanks for the info. It probably will start to sink in after I do it maybe even a few times! I started to have a panic attack last night and did breathing exercises and busied myself and it was almost gone!! This does work if you put some effort into it!! I'm so glad that you are feeling better too!!

hello everyone!
I am also starting the program for my 2nd time. The program helped me so much with everything but i still struggle with panic attacks. I'm sixteen and in high school. Every day is a struggle and sometimes it gets so frustrated that you have mental breakdowns every once in a while. I think i'm going to stick with session 2 until i get these steps drilled into my head. xoxo god bless

Hey all ~

I am on lesson six & am doing the program for the first time. I can honestly say that after I complete the program I cannot wait to start again. I don't think there is anything wrong with really absorbing all of the material & getting the most out of it.

Spazzz ~ I know exactly how frustrating it can be. I still get upset that I am experiencing anxiety, but we are doing the right thing by attacking it with this program. We are taking the steps to heal ourselves & while it isn't a magical cure, we can get through this.

I wish all of you the best. I really love these boards. Smiler

Hi everyone!!
I too am doing the program a second time around..
It has been about 6 months or more since I finished the first one. I loved the program and it did help me so much the first time but I am getting so much more out of it this time.
Just a sidenote, I believe Carolyn said that she completed it three times.
My biggest symptoms were and still are scary obsessive thoughts. The difference this time is I know that I don't want to do anything silly that my mind creates and makes up, its the fact that I am fully capable to do the crazy things that the crazy people do and that is scary. But I am relearning and reviewing all the skills and it does help tremedously.
My grandfather just had a major operation done and he was in the ICU for a few days after it on a respirator and it was probably the hardest thing I had to go through in my 25 years of life, but I got through it!!!
Yes I was anxioius, and scared and full of fear, bu8t if I never would have learned the basic skills from doing the program the first time I would have been so much more worse.
This was encouraging for me because I knew it worked and I knew that doing it a second time is even better for me!!!
My grandfather is doing so much better now and he is being released tomorrow. He still has much recovery time ahead of him but his attitude is what is getting him through all of this. He is such a CARD!!!
But that just motivated me even more!!
Take care all of you and good luck and god bless on our second time around!!!
Keep me posted!!!!
