Chest tightness is not dangerous, but it sure can make you fearful and miserable. I know. If you have had a checkup medically, you know it is anxiety. Work on thought replacement. Calm yourself whenever you feel the tightness. Let it remind you to be nice to yourself and not to scare yourself.

The rare times that happens to me [chest pain; not being able to breathe] I take Xanax.....and it really helps. You are not alone. Unfortunately, this is quite common but very scary. Breathe as deep as possible and have an emergency medication that you won't misuse and they may help. Regards.

I can tell you that this has happened to me alot. Then I feel as if I am going to pass out. My old counselor used to tell me that you can't pass out with your adrenaline pumping as hard as it does. I just try to breathe very deeply and clear my mind and concentrate on my breathing and then it gets better.
