When Iam anxious I get real spacey and my ears feel full, I feel like Iam walking around outside of my body. But every once in awhile out of the blue it comes over me, I get real dizzy the floor feels like it is
going to hit me in the face, I shake all over,it comes over me without any warning I could be just sitting there not really stressed out or anything. It is hard to explain but its really hard to not react panicy to it because it comes on so quick. Has anyone out there experienced it? I need to know if it is really a panic attack? |

Nancy,
I can identify with those symptoms. Usually they hit me when I am unable to concious counter them. For example, I can be in front of a congregation cantoring or playing the organ or teaching a class, and it hits me. I have no where to go, I am on automatic pilot as far as singing and playing are concerned and the what-ifs begin. Those what ifs become Oh my God, I'm going to pass out and everyone is going to see me, if I let them. If I allow it to escalate, it will become a full blown panic attack. During those times, it is really important to stay in the present. Touch things. Talk to people. Consciously notice colors, sounds, sights, smells. This all helps to make the symptoms dissapate quicker. DW |
