Hi I have been having a problem lately. I cannot seem to have a full yawn I feel like I cannot take a deep full breath. This then causes me to feel anxious and my chest tightens. I get some relief if I tighten and hold my shoulder muscles to relieve pressure. This even happens at the gym sometimes while doing cardio exercises. I don't feel light headed or as if I am losing my breath. It is just difficult to get in a deep breath and it feels like I need one all of the time. I wonder if it might be anxiety?

It's definately the anxiety. I had the same problem. If you worry about it, you are fueling it. Find peace in knowing it is just another physical symptom of anxiety. And it will go away.

yes, its anxiety but if it will make you feel better you should get checked by the doctor but, I also use to feel short of breath and chest pain. It's anxiety just take slow breaths in through your nose and slow breaths out through your mouth (3 second intervals in and out) trust me your body automatically knows it needs to breath its just that we focus on it. Just relax you'll be fine it also helps to distract your self and not to think about it cause it just makes it worse, go outside in the fresh air and go for a walk or somethig. Smiler
