I am on Paxil (40 mgs) and Xanax (0.25mgs), I have to take at least 2 Xanax at night to fall asleep and I think that my other med is not working like it used to. I am having night sweats and I feel like there is something in my head that is making feel so dizzy that when I try to wash dishes I have to sit down or I am going to pass out. I get afraid when that feeling comes on and I am out with my little girl because It feels so bad. I have to go back to the DR. to get refills soon. I am afraid to tell him for fear of yet another medication I would have to take. But I really hate these feelings I wish they would go away ( I am sorry if I am rambling) Does anyone have any kind of insight or advice I am getting that hot feeling just writing about it.

I can identify with what you are feeling. I was put on Paxil and Buspar 5 yrs. ago for anxiety and panic disorder. I did very well for about 3 years and BANG, I had a panic attack one day and I have had an increase in my anxiety level. I wonder, does this stuff lose its effect over time? That is the main reason I bought this program. I want some lasting results without having to rely on a pill. I want to get control of this myself. I hope we can do it!!!

Dear JMC and RIP,
I was on 50 mg of zoloft when I started the program and was completely off it four months later. To alleviate the physical symptoms of anxiety I believe excercising has helped me more than ever. When I started the program it was suggested I start excercising consistently. I began to jog one mile three times per week. I increased my mileage and now jog five miles every other day. This has had a profound effect on my anxiety. Jogging completely alleviates all symptoms and I feel a healthy "high" I've never quite experienced. I've heard of "runners high" and now I believe it. Try to push yourself to start running every other day. It will be one of the healthiest addictions you'll ever experience. I promise you that you may not need medication after a while. Also, keep replacing those negative thoughts and use all Midwest Center resources i.e. relaxation tapes, journaling,ect... You have the right to conquer anxiety. God bless you both.
