Hello, Can anyone tell mewhat paxil does to the anxious person does it sort of numb you or what does it do for you? I have gotten a prescription and took a half of a pill 10mg and felt a little weird, sort of spacey, but prior to taking the pill I started to feel better anyway ,so I think I am going to give it a try without medication, I kinda feel out of touch or out of conrol of myself and my feelings when I took that 10mg of Paxil so any suggestions or any experiences wouldbe appreciated. Thanks MArk
Please don't take paxil. I been on Paxil and I had the worst withdrawal symptoms. I have been off for 6 weeks and the symptoms are still there. My symptoms are dizzyness, numbness, weakness in my body and depression. I went to another doctor and told her my symptoms and she told me to take nothing and clean out my system. I read that Prozac and zoloft are the better medication because the withdrawal isn't that bad. Please check out http://members.tripod.lycos.com/fstreicher/ for more info on Paxil
Hi Mark. I agree with Anxious on the Paxil. I was on it and I had a pretty bad withdrawal. I am now going off Prozac (and pretty proud of myself about it) and the withdrawal is not even half as bad as it was with the Paxil.
However, when I went off Paxil, I had not been through this program first! So maybe that has something to do with it.

Why not give the program a try without drugs? I took Paxil and felt it took away the best part of my personality, the part that cares. If something had to be done - my attitute was who cares. It also made it hard to think, or process thoughts. I never had any idea, that the thought process of doing Christmas cards was so complicated, until I tried to do it on Paxil. I only took it a short while, my husband called the Dr. and told her it wasn't working and he wanted "his wife back", I experienced withdrawal. Maybe this will work for you, but if you are on the fence, go to any search engine and type in Paxil withdrawal. 1,430 sites will pop up on the stories and experiences that people have had. It gave me the courage that I had made the right decision, to be drug free. That is where there can be a feeling of control, and you know how much we LOVE control!!!! Good luck to you,and know that only YOU can decide what's best for you. Trust yourself. Take Care, Anner
