Hi everybody,
I am new here, but I have read Lucinda's book. I've been prone to anxiety for awhile, but the past 6 weeks have been out of control!

It all started when I noticed a flashing light in my vision. I had it checked out by 2 eye doctors and they say my retina is OK - no tears or anything.

Well, now I think all my fear and paranoia about my eyes has created even more visual disturbances! Now I am noticing random spots of light every now and then. And I can kind of see my vision pulsing when my heart beats really hard. And recently, I noticed that if I look at something bright (like the sky or a lightbulb) and look away, I see a crackling of "stars" where the light was. I've never noticed this before.

Has anybody experienced anything like this? Am I going crazy? Or blind? Or both??? I should mention that I experienced a migraine aura about a year ago - so I wonder if this is something similar?

Please help! I would really like to know if anybody has had anything similar and survived and didn't go blind!

Thanks! It is so reassuring to know that I am not the only person who suffers from anxiety. My boyfriend thinks I am a little crazy!

Lucy

First thing that popped in my head when I read you post is migraines. I get all those symptoms with migraines. Keep in mind you do NOT have to have a headache with a migraine. Flashing vision and floaters (little balls of light that come and goe) are all common with migrains...also with getting up to fast. Staring at something bright then seeing it all over the place when you look away is normal to everyone everyone gets that.

Ive been having migraines and these visual disturbances since the age of 7 and Im not blind yet Smiler

Hope this helps.
