dear sunset 34 and amethest98 thank you for your words of wisdom.I was ready to give up and make my doctors appointment for anxity medication.But when I read your advice that its very hard to communicate with people and make direct eye contact,I did great the very next day.I kept telling myself that the next day and did good ever since. I still pray every day and read scriptures from the bible and I know it helps because i always feel better afterwords.I know with prayer and your words of wisdom I'll get better.Im still a little confused on how the forum works .I didnt know professionals like yourselves answerd our questions and i couldnt thank you guys for a week something about the bbs redoing the forum.I thought someone got mad at the comment I made about retaking medication and took me off the forum.ha ha. so any way I got back on today by removing some cookies whatever that means.thanks again your friend ang.

I'm so glad we could help. It's great that you are doing better.
Actually, I am just someone else who is struggling with anxiety and panic attacks (but doing much better than before starting cognitive behavioral therapy ) and not a professional Wink . But thanks for the complement Smiler .
I just got finished reading a book called Painfully Shy by Barbara G. Markway and Gregory P. Markway. They give some good tips on overcoming social anxiety. So you might check it out. I purchased it at amazon.com .

I am so glad that you were helped by what is shared in the MWC forum! There is lots of wisdom here because many here have overcome their anxiety and are willing to stick around and show others the way.

I wouldn't call myself a "professional" unless you want to call me a "professional overcomer"!! Big Grin

Although I still have tough days now and then, I have pretty much conquered my anxiety through using the skills of this program. If you stick around, you will find many others that have done the same and share their advice based on what they know from experience.

The fact that all of us experienced the symptoms and feelings makes us all very close, in that we share alot of similarities. Anxiety, panic, agoraphobia, social phobias, depression....and many others...we all have one thing in common and that's learning how to deal with the symptoms and misbeliefs that we go through.

I hope you stick around and read the posts! Don't give up on yourself and please know that it's normal to feel anxiety at times. Anxiety is part of life... it's when a person begins to avoid things because of it that it gets out of hand. It's about learning balance by taking better care of yourself and learning to be compassionate with yourself.

Take Care Ang123! You will find lots of support here from people that are either still going through their own struggles or people that are on the other side.... recovery!! Smiler
