My husband is so thankful. One of my huge things was control. So therefore someone else driving was pretty much unheard of. I would be in tears about it if I couldn't drive. Each little step towards your freedom from anxiety makes such a huge impact. When you feel anxiety in a situation you aren't used to I look back on situations that I felt high anxiety and tell myself "hey, I made it through that I can do this easy" and it works. I try to look at the positive in the situation for example of not driving and say "hey and can one of my friends I haven't talked to in awhile and see what's going on or just observe what's going outside of the car and try to see the beauty in the trees, sky, houses, etc...pretty much anything that doesn't have to do with me thinking something is wrong internally.

Amy, great job! Doesn't it feel wonderful to know that you can get yourself out of that anxious place? Congratulations.

Yesterday I went on my trip by myself and drove for 2 hours. I had the best time seeing my grandchildren. It was so rewarding. Everyone tried to keep me from going but I stuck to my guns and said I can do this all by myself and I dont need you!!! Ha Ha!! It was a beautiful and relaxing day. I played my music and enjoyed the scenery and had a blast!! This was a big feat for me to prove that I could do it all by my little ole self. Now I am ready to leave again!!!
