I have not posted here in a long time. I wanted to offer some hope to anyone who is in the program or considering it. I did the program about 2 years ago. My life has changed so much it's hard to know where to start. I went from being a shy, anxious and scared person to a assertive, easy going and fun person. Believe me, I still have my moments but my life has improved so much.

Through the skills I learned by doing the program, I conquered my fear of public speaking. I also left a long term relationship that was always my "security". I moved, got my own place and a great job. It was a lot of effort and I am proud of what I have done.

I want to thank everyone at the Midwest Center for such a life changing program.

Wow, that's great! Thanks for sharing with us. I can see so many improvements in my life now but its great to know that after 15 weeks, people don't start to backslide. I worry that 15 weeks won't be long enough to 'fix' everything that's wrong with me. But I try not to think about it, knowing the skills are there for life, and I own the CDs, why should i worry about running out of lessons before I run out of issues? DId you feel like you continued to change and grow after 15 weeks?

Hi Mho,
Don't worry about the timing. You definately continue to change after 15 weeks. Some of the lessons I just am starting to understand. I still refer back to the tapes when I'm having a tough day.

I felt like it just got easier and easier for me. I was always afraid of change and wouldn't change bad situations due to fear. Now, I still get nervous but I'm able to "step through the wall of anxiety and fear".

Good luck to you!

I am in week 4 of the program, but am having a hard time with writing down all of the negatives and then challenging them. I have written in my notebook for 2 weeks, but it seems like it is harder to believe now. I am trying to write more positives without the negatives. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much for sharing your triumph with us Ally--each positive experience gives me more and more hope for the future!

I'm currently on week 5 of the program and the differences I'm seeing are incredible.

Hi there! I had the same problem about a week ago--it seems like it was harder to make myself understand and find positive affirmations after a while. So you know what helped? I took a little break. I found that I had been trying way too hard on the program and forgetting how to relax. Once I took a break, I realized how easy it was to think positively again.

I see what you mean because I was writing in my notebook constantly so It was always my focus. When I have felt best is when I have done it a little more naturally without writing alot down. I did notice the wokbook said to write down 4 negatives and challenge them over the course of a day. I was doing 4 per hour. I guess I can still do it mentally without writing and it gives you a break

That's awesome! I'm proud of you for realizing that a break is a good thing. Smiler It's hard for people like us because we're driven individuals, and a part of our anxiety fuels our determination ("If we don't do this program as much as we can we won't recover"). it's also about relaxing and going at it slowly and with time.
