Last night I had to give a lesson at church to 15 ladies. I didn't have any time at all to study the lesson, so needless to say I was noticebly nervous and messed up a lot, but when I got home I didn't worry or beat myself up over what others might have thought. I came home and was proud of myself for just doing it at all. I will have to do this once a month so I figured it was my first lesson and so every one after that will be an improvement. Normally I would come home and beat myself up and feel embarassed for days and weeks to come so I did good. Thanks for listening,

That is great. It is difficult to teach, esp. to fellow adults. I am sure you did great.

I am so happy for you when you said you did not obsess, about mistakes you might have made.
It sounds like you did well from your post.

Good luck with your future classes. It is so wonderful that you dedicate your time in doing this.

Heatherlee,
Thank you for your kind words. I have to teach the class again next month so hopefully I can do it without obsessing afterwards again. I'm starting to learn that worrying, and obsessing is a big waste of time, and I don't have enough hours in my day to waste on things that are not prdouctive.
Thanks again,
lone star girl

Greetings Lone star girl,
I commend you for wanting to teach some ladies the Bible. They most likely were impressed and learned from you and didn't give your nervousness a second thought.* I too do something similar.

The best part is that you didn't beat yourself up about this and took it well in stride. I think part of healing from anxiety is doing what is best for us at the time and not looking over our shoulder at how good or poor we did. As you know, God is far more forgiving of us on some matters than we are of ourselves.

Thanks for sharing your accomplishment. Smiler

Victoria
