Lucinda's right. I didn't think so but when she's mentioned on the video about being creative when you're most tired or "get up and write that book at 2 in the morning." Guess what! I wrote a song. Wish I could sing you the melody but here's the song. I wasn't feeling good, plugged in the video as I lay on the bed. I heard her talking about the people who had lost their dream. I was thinking I'm not even sure what mine is. She mentioned someone what happened to that cabin you wanted in Colorado. It brought back memories of dreams to travel. So what's your dream? Post it here or post your creativity. It's there dig it up! Here's mine.
Follow Your Dreams

Don't ever lose sight
Of who you are
Follow your dreams
follow that star.
And always remember whose you are
You're a child of the King.
Bring glory to Him
in everything.

OK, your turn. No need to write a poem if that's not you. What's your dream? What's your creativity?

My dream has always been to be a mom. I lost site of that these last couple of days with all my depression and anxiety brought about the hormone treatments from my fertility doc. I saw the light this morning. My game is back on! I've also had the dream of having a really good looking body--been overweight most of my life. Well with these hormones --I lost my appetite and started walking for an hour every morning to walk off some of the extra anxiety I wake up with. I've lost 10lbs. and have promised myself to continue the walking if and when I get pregnant--my belly will get huge but I can still have toned, strong legs and will recover from delivery quicker. Anyway there's 2 of my dreams

Before you do anything, ask yourself..."How do you want to be remembered?"

Good job Barb and great thread!

My dream has always been to own my own business and to volunteer helping people in some way.

If I could overcome this agoraphobia once and for all, I could do both no problem.

Good for you yellow rose. Keep up the good work. Just like you're wanting to be a mom, I've been wanting to be a Grandma. While you wait for one dream to happen there may be another one. Francesca I believe you will own your own business some day and right now you are fulfilling your dream of volunteering and helping people. We are people who WILL fulfill our dreams. Here's another song I wrote a while back about dreams.
Dreams

Where do good dreams come from..
they must come from God alone.
He has a purpose for you
because He loves you so.

He's given special gifts to you
so you'd give to others too
He wants the world to know
that He loves them so...

So I ask what will you do..
with these gifts He's given you
Tell about the Gospel of Christ
Giving them Eternal Life.

Ok, gang keep sharing your dreams and realize your purpose in life. What are the special gifts He's given you? Your talents?

Thanks cac. I appreciate you saying I have a special talent. Tell me people, when someone says this to you do you ever doubt them and think they're saying it to make you feel good. When you get all excited about your dream does it later come crashing down? If so, how do you overcome it? I struggle with this all the time. Like Fri. nite I was on a roll and believing God was blessing me with talent. There's a small grp. of people starting a church service Sun. nites in a motel room. I was going to take my other song I wrote. As I'm going over the melody I'm beating myself up because it's different sometimes each time. Well, I don't know maybe it's OK for a songwriter because it's a work in progress Confused I don't know. I'm just so tired of these ups and downs. What I need to tell myself is even if it does sound corny to someone else, I believe God gave me the song for whatever reason. I'd like to believe he meant for me to share them with some people. I think most of us, being sensitive people get hurt easily. Is this true for you? Well like I said I was excited before and tho it was just a little song I left it on my daughter and son's ans.machine saying I'll never be a recording star so I thought I'd record on their machine. I asked my daughter if she got it and just said yes mom and smiled but I felt it was that comment,(even tho she didn't say it) it felt like she was thinking mom is on a roll again. Boy, I wish I could overcome the feelings of rejection. This is why I'm checking into the coaching program. I'm tired of hurting like this. I want to believe in myself. I can tell someone this and believe for them over and over but me, up one day, down the next. I hate it. Why after completing the program am I struggling so again? Is it another "growth spurt?" Well, I've rambled so I might as well give you the other song which starts out the same tune as Jesus Christ Superstar but only the first couple sentences then completely different. You can't hear the melody anyhow so you can read the words.
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR

Jesus Christ superstar
We know God who you really are
You'e the great, three in one
your son to earth, He did come.

The Holy Spirit is who we hear
He draws to us so that we come near
Near to our Heavenly Father
The Father now with open arms
Asking us to receive His son
So the battle of victory may be won.

Where are those to fight the fight
Will they come pray late into the night.
My people here, do not hear
They're too busy to draw near
So come today alone with me
Sit on your Daddy's bended knee.
For child I sit and wait for you
Come hither now and I'll show you what to do.

There is work to be done
for soon I'll come
ARE YOU READY FOR THAT DAY
My Son will come take you away.

The angels blow the trumpet sound
All glory in heaven will abound
So hurry now, take your place
Be aware of my amazing grace...
Hallelujah!, Halleluhah!, HAL LE LU JAH!!

It does need work, so there can I accept that. That's what I've discovered for rambling. I can write and re-write and re-write. Sing one way sing another until I know it's right. Right? Who said it needs to be perfect the first time. Thanks for hearing my heart, all you fine people.

Did I mention, I don't play a note. I have a keyboard I'd love to learn...another dream. Somehow I dream of playing songs by ear. Well, if he gives me words and melodies by ear, why not? I've always loved music. All my life listened to records, tapes or CD's.

Hi Barb!
I can tell that you really enjoy writing songs and poetry. So for right now, I'd just say to write them and just enjoy doing so. It doesn't matter what others say about your work.
Just keep writing and put them all in a notebook. It is good to save your work.
As for as what your daughter comments about them, well, often family is the last to see the value of our efforts. It is nice when they do compliment us but if they don't, we mustn't take it personally or think that our work is bad if they don't recognize it.
Writing is a really good outlet. So be sure and keep doing it when you have time. Poetry is an excellent way of expressing our feelings.
You can include that in your journaling.
I rnjoyed reading your poems.

Hi Barb G. I'm a certified Pharmacy Technician but that wasn't my dream. I Love art. Painting and drawing. I write children's stories for fun. I always loved fashion and fashion design. I always wanted to learn to play the guitar. There's so many things I love. I really can't figure out what my dream is.

Thank you Mary Jane and Cheryl for the compliment. Way back I kept my work in a notebook. I will try to do that again. I'm so unorganized. Definitely not one of my talents.
I liked hearing from others their dreams or even if they weren't sure like dee dee so come on let's hear more dreams from others out there.

My dream is to have a big family with lots of love, joy, laughter, and peace in our home and hearts. My dream is to have my own business (haven't decided what yet) and to be able to help others through my work. My dream is to become totally confident in myself and God. My dream is for me and us to live life to its fullest.

Barb its good that you started this discussion because the bible says to write the vision and make it plain. We are making decrees just by sharing our dreams. Whatever we bind here on earth is bound in heaven and whatever we loose here on earth is loosed in heaven.

Keep writing your songs/poetery, they're actually really good and inspiring. Like "cac" said you never know how your gift will be used. You don't have to be a superstar but you can be a songwriter for others but then on the other hand who says that you can't be a superstar? Smiler
