Last night my wife called me from school saying the truck would not start. I went and jumped it about 3 or 4 times getting it to start each time, but it would die as soon as putting it into gear. So we came home and I'll look at it tomorrow and get it taken care of. Then about 11:45pm last night my son calls from college and says that he parked in the wrong spot and his Jeep was towed could I send him $60 since that's what it will cost to get it out and it's his last $60 before his payday (from mom and dad) on Saturday. He just called last Thursday saying he parked in the wrong spot and they were about to tow his Jeep, but he got there just in time, so it will only cost $15 for the parking ticket. Could he put it on my credit card.

The $15 was no big deal, but in my condition a year and two years ago, the jumping the truck and son getting his vehicle towed would have bothered me and angered me a lot. But, now, I am a bit ticked and had a few negative thoughts running through my head when I woke up this am, but I am basically okay. No upset on the outside, no disgruntled sounds coming from me, no criticism spewing from my mouth. Just taking care of business and get back to my own life. It feels good because I know it is the program and its skills that have reduced my stress and anger to be able to handle "normal" things like this. Thanks Midwest!!! Smiler Big Grin Now, I just hope my son doesn't call tomorrow telling me his vehicle has been totaled!!! Confused

Hi Don--Sorry to hear about your families troubles but happy to hear how you're handling them. Isn't it a wonderful feeling to deal with a problem and move on. This has been a big lesson for me also. Through the MWC I too have learned that grumbling, anger & complaining really get you no where and makes you feel worse than need be. After the problem or crisis is over my self-esteem continues to rise knowing that I have dealt with whatever in a appropiate manner.

Congrats to you Big Grin
