Okay, I got the program and am on session 2. I have noticed a slight change for the better. This is great! My problem is, I think I am the one with the problem that can't get fixed. I have to take a xanax before bed every night. Have taken one for over 9 months now. I have a fear of not sleeping. My anxiety keeps me awake. The problem is I know it is anxiety that is waking me up (jolting awake), I just can't get past the scared feeling I get when "it" wakes me up. I want to be reassured that I am not the worst case out there and I can be helped with this program. I want to go to bed at night excited about sleeping with NO medicine. Help!

I don't have this issue but just wanted to let you know that I have seen plenty of posts on here of people who having trouble sleeping or are afraid of sleeping and need to take medication. You are def. not alone.

Hi Brig. My name is Missi. I take trazadone every night before I go to bed. My "thing" that can trigger anxiety is not sleeping. It can set me off like nothing else. I have cut down on the dosage I take, but I doubt I will ever be totally off of it. I am okay with that. In the beginning, it bothered me, but now I don't let it. I get a good night's sleep and feel great to face the day. Just accept that it is helping you, and when you feel ready, you can then try to taper down or off if you feel like it. Otherwise, it is just the way it is. I wish you all of the best.

i used to jolt awake in the middle of the night it will like many other anxiety symptoms come to pass...and a new one will begin unfortunately. Just stay positive and listen to the relaxation cd that came along with the package.

I also used to"jolt" awake when i first started having panic attacks, know that this to shall pass, and realize it is anxiety, and u are definitely not alone. Just try and do something when you get up to keep mind busy.
I know I have been there, and you and I both can get thru this.
Smiler

Big Grin smile. I dont have this problem anymore I did a couple years ago.Its amazing how we go through episodes of what everyone goes through at different times. I had problem of going to sleep because I was scared of facing the next day then I went through with not wanting to wake up because I had the fear of repeating it the next day I still have that.please believe you are not alone try to distract your mind with mellow sounds of music and wonderful smells in the air like candles or air freshners and have a cup of hot tea before bed and know you are ok and not alone. we are here for you as you are here for us.

Anyone have the problem that they have a hard time getting to sleep and then, if they take a sleep-aid, get to sleep but have a hard time getting going in the morning? My work schedule is flexible with many nights and weekends. So, it's hard for me to go to bed early and sometimes necessary to sleep a little late. But I get this guilty feeling like if I don't get up and get going on something, even though I may not have to, that I'm wasting the day and just staying in bed so I can avoid the world.

I've only completed session 1, which didn't tell me too much I didn't already know. I'm starting session 2 on Monday.
