Hi. I'm new to this. I just got my program and I I'm on the second CD, which actually helped me make it through a panic attack last night! YEAH! Today, I'm all nervous.

I started lexapro a few days ago actually. I am sure I probably have postpartum, I had a baby 2 months ago. Now, I have panic attacks and I have figured out, my problem is afraid of being sick, what's wrong with me and I'm scared of taking meds!
I constantly look over the paperwork to see what drug interactions there are, and I'm always calling the pharmacist to see if it's OKAY to take it. Like last night. I take a vitamin and my lexapro. I have terrible sinus headaches, which make me dizzy anyhow....so I took half the dosage and almost had 3 panic attacks, but I talked myself out of them. Can someone explain this to me and help me keep myself from doing this?

Dont worry! I also have been given so many different meds lately and I tend to read all the side effects so by the time I'm need to take one I've already talked myself out of it.
Or like you I call the pharmacist. I have been given lexapro twice and still havent started it.
I'm also always worried about health especially since I've had my kids. I recently had a surgery and the same pain came back and now I'm going through new tests and I find myself worrying all the time. Lets pray for eachother and I'm sure well get through this.

Nervous -

I also have a lot of fear about taking new meds. In fact, I'm in the process of starting one now. I find for me it's best that I avoid looking at the side effects listed for medications otherwise I just end up obsessing about them and creating more anxiety. When I have concerns, I talk with my doctor or pharmacist.

By the way, I take Lexapro and have had relatively few side effects. This is unusual for me because I'm typically fairly sensitive to medications.

Good luck,
JB

Its kind of catch 22 you want to look at side affects to see what they could be ,yet you don't want to because you will obsess about them. take it from me i made myself even worse when i was first put on meds and I tended to not give them a chance because i was so sacred of side affects the meds i am on now were given to me in the hospital and i didnt read any side affects of them . still to this day i am now at home i have not dared to read them i have been on them for 2 months now. There may be slight side affects from the drugs but as they come you should phone and ask instead of reading the side affects before u take a med mabye take it and think of it as a vitamin when u take i know its hard. cause somedays i still think about the drugs and what they can do to me but i have to realise that they are helping me.i have gained 30 lbs from the drugs i am on but i needed the wiegh on me i was only 92 lbs plus i quite smoking. you will be fine remebr we are all in this toghther AND EVERYTIME U FEEL [PANICKY TRY TO TELL YOURSELF THIS HAPPENS TO MANY PEOPKLE AND YOU WILL BE ALRIGHT LIKE THEY SAY TALK TO YOURSLEF LIKE U WOULD TALK TO A GOOD FRIEND
