I could say the two years I worked at McDonald's but I actually enjoyed it at times. I was a teenager and so was just about everyone else that worked there. We had a blast. So I'll skip ahead to when I first moved to Rhode Island. The job I origianlly got didn't work out so I hooked up with a temp agency while I looked for other work in my field. I answered phones for a bank and loan co. The job itself wasn't that humiliating, but the people there treated anyone who answered phones as a second rate person, someone who couldn't do anything else. What idiots. I got them back. I only worked there two weeks but there were a few missing messages, a few times where I said "oopsies, I pressed the wrong button and hung up on your boss, the executive v.p. - twice"!
Even a phone message written in chicken scratch and when they came to me and said they couldn't possibly read my horrible handwriting, I smirked and said "oh, that's just shorthand. I thought you could read that. No bother - I'll write it out nice and easy for ya, K?" |
