Is anyone so anxious that they do things quickly and are clumsy?

I was at work taking a break. I had already had my lunch break but my co-worker brought some extra food to share with me. I am a very consciencous worker and felt guilty about taking another break (although I worked 4-6 hours extra every night from home for FREE). Anyway, as we sat there, someone rattled the door knob and I jumped up in a panic thinking it was my boss (who wouldn't have been upset with me but being me, I was freaked out), I kicked the file cabinet next to me and broke my little toe! All in the name of anxiety. What a dork! I was reminded of that spastic reaction for MONTHS since being that it was my toe, I was constantly on it and stubbing it time and time again.

-BTW, my kids constantly remind me what a goofball I am that I freaked out and in turn broke my toe.
But seriously here folks, is anyone else so full of anxiety that they react quickly and are clumsy or am I the only dork out there?

I've never broken my toe for that particular reason, but I liked your story. Just wanted to let you know that, because hey, your sense of humor deserves a reward! I did once while growing up, kick a cow (this is not a misprint) and broke my toe. Not anxiety related, but maybe in some warped mind (like my sense of humor) funny.

Keep the stories coming! I like this board much better than some of the others sometimes. I can relate, but it sure gets heavy!

Heres to the dorks! Dorks make the world a better place!

take care!

Diane,
Im the fastest grocery shopper in the west. I memorized the store and what was where. I can get in an out of a grocery store in 10mintes. Of course i may knock over at least on display while im there, turning corner to quickly, but hey, what difference does it make as long as im in and out, without an anxiety attack. SmilerIsnt it amazing what we will do to keep from having attacks, lol Smiler

Hello all! I really like this forum b/c just like Lucinda said, sometimes we just need to stop taking ourselves so seriously.
I've got a little story for you all. Well, a week or so ago, I made a little trip to Super Wal-Mart to pick up a few things. That day I was wearing sandals. (Trust me this will have some significance a little later on.) I picked up some peanut butter and put it in the buggy where parents sometimes put their kids. It was right in front of me. Well, the peanut butter found a little escape route. It decided to jump on my toe. Eeker Wowsers, it hurt. However, I just kept right on going like nothing ever happened. Of course we would never want to embarrass ourselves, now would we? lol
Hope you all got a little chuckle out of that one! Have a great day!
