THnaks for all your great help with the experience you went through. Before you were put on medication did you feel physically ill? or were you panicy and anxious?
I am on supplements and St. Johns wort but does not seem to help. At first it did but not any more. Your help is truley appreciated. jt |

My first panic attack hit me when I was on my way to taking my twin girls, then 1 1/2yrs old for a Dr. appt. I ended up being taken to the hospital in an ambulance instead. The Dr. on call told me I had an anxiety attack, I had an ecg done,and away I went.I went back to work which at that time happened to be where I also lived. I had a boarding kennel, pet store, and grooming salon at my residence, I still had dogs to finish grooming that day. I remember feeling very dizzy,and almost like I had just woken up from a long sleep. I remember being terrified whenever someone would come into the store, I thought I was going to have another attack. It was truly a living nightmire. I have never since had a full blown attack like the first one, but did have several smaller ones before I decided to start on medication. Fortunately for me my Dr. at the time had gone through anxiety, and panic attacks while she was studing to become a Dr. She said that most people with anxiety don't like taking med's, but they should not be afraid to take them, because they do make you feel better, and also that many attacks occur when things are actually going well in your like. I guess the reasoning for the second part is that if things are going well you have all the time in the world to worry, as opposed to when you have a crisis occurring in your life, your focused on that. With that said, I was still quite freaked about going on med's, which made me anxious when I started them, but they soon gave me the power to start controlling my life, and being productive again. Infact as I write this, I was thinking last Friday I had a rabies shot done for protection against rabies, if I had had that 10 years ago I would probably have lost many hours of sleep worrying if I was going to have a bad reaction to it. I strongly suggest exercise as a release to all the energy you probably have, but are using in a negative was, it's amazing what it can do for you.
