huntress,

You are welcome here, just as anyone of ANY faith is welcome. I don't understand how you would feel otherwise.

In your other post, you asked questions relating to Christianity and you got many responses. Whether or not, they were responses you wanted to receive, I am not sure. But I think everyone did the best to answer your questions.

When you brought up the fact that you are paranoid of "being converted", I think most of us that answered your questions, didn't understand how. I mean, afterall, you had asked us the questions and we simply answered those questions the best we knew how.

No one was telling you what to do or how to believe. We were all basically telling you to continue reading your bible (because you shared with us that you were reading it) because that's where you would find the answers for yourself.

I believe you made yourself clear when you said you were not a Christian and "will never be one" and that you were only asking those questions not for spiritual reasons but rather educational reasons.

This is the problem with communicating in these types of forums-people misunderstand what you are trying to say because they read it with a certain "tone" echoing in their head. I don't know if this post is a response of frustration regarding my posts or not, either way, I wanted to clarify what I was saying. First of all, my original post was not intended to hurt your feelings or upset you. This is what I was trying to say and then I think we should move on from this.

You stated in one post that
"maybe I was opening myself up to this but I feel a bit like people are trying to convert me. I'm sure your intent is just to answer my question as best you can. For any reasons I don't really want to get into I am very uncomfortable with organized religion of all kinds. They just seem like publicly accepted cults. No offense intended.

Well, no offense on my part was taken. I do not consider my faith a cult.

You then stated "I just suffer from what I like to think of as conversion paranoia. I am very fearful of people forcing their dogma onto me. I do however know that is not the intent of anyone here."

Yes, I recognized the fact that you thought no one on this forum was trying to convert you but in your wording it seemed as though you were very concerned about people (maybe not on this forum) pushing their faiths on you. I was just trying to suggest that maybe you not ask questions about what people believe if that is something you are very concerned about because a lot of times you may feel that they are pushing their beliefs and that in return can make you very uncomfortable. Its kind of like my fear of going crazy. I avoid things that trigger thoughts in my mind because I don't want to make myself susceptible to things that make me uncomfortable. Once again, my intentions were not to upset you. As for you being welcome-why would you feel that you weren't? I don't feel as though I was making you unwelcome but I apologize if I were. I think most of us Christians can attest to the fact that we do not associate "only" with fellow believers. My best friends were unsaved for 3 years. The husband believed that we created our own reality and held more closely to the Buddhist teachings and his wife believed that there was no God. By no means, did I not hang out with them. They are our best friends to this day. I think that religion is a touchy subject, however, I was not offended by anything you said and I apologize if I offended you. Anyways, on to another topic.........What do you believe? I am always interested to hear what people believe. My professor of comparitive religions believes that Christ was a sinner and a little freak as a boy. I thought that was a bit odd but interesting none the less. What religions do you find the most interesting?

huntress,
Since you are questioning why I thought it was about Christianity...I went back to your post to read it again so I could at least let you know where I was coming from. But, since you wrote that post on 9/13 and then edited it today on 10/5 and it reads differently... I cannot give you an answer that would make sense, especially now with your new edited version. All I can say is that I shared upon what I read at that time.
I believe this is the reason why so many Christians responded to your post.

In response to this:
"i dont seem to remember that.my first question was entierly on spiritual grounds.my reading of the bible is educational. guess i wasnt clear enough."

I had previously written above:
"I believe you made yourself clear when you said you were not a Christian and "will never be one" and that you were only asking those questions not for spiritual reasons but rather educational reasons. "

You said:
"SMears, how was my question about chritianity?all i asked is were do you stand?"

I had previously written above:
"In your other post, you asked questions relating to Christianity "

Asking someone where they stand spiritually, relates to ANY religion they have faith in.

I can honestly see there was a huge misunderstanding with Val and others, and perhaps even myself, although I did answer the question and responded to what you said. I do not see that I misunderstood, as I answered just as everyone else did.
