My Hubby is a Walking Talking Miracle!!!

My hubby got saved back in 1993, but, he just never could seem to give up his life of partying with his buddies!!! He was being really chastised by the Lord!!! He would go out drinking and end up talking about the Lord, and end up crying and feeling sooo guilty for continuing to live that type of life style.

I do have to say that he lost a lot of his partying buddies, since, a lot of them didn’t even want to hear God’s name mentioned sober, little alone drinking or drunk!!!

It was in the fall of the year 1994 when he received his rude awakening!!!
He had gone camping with a few of his buddies when he had the strangest experience.

They all went to the Red River Falls, which are just a hop and a skip from here!!!
It was getting dark, so, they placed a lantern on a tree branch, and were having a grand old time!!! It was during this time that my hubby saw something ordinary folks do not see, and they hadn’t begun partying, as of yet!!!

He looked up towards a tall rock and saw Jesus hovering above the rock. He said that Jesus was looking downward at him and He had wings which were folded behind Him!!!
He also said that he could see the crown of thorns as plain as day upon Jesus’ head, and he described the blood that was trickling down Jesus’ face, as water looks like when it is trickling down a window pane; with the exception, of the red blood!!!

My hubby was terrified and told one of his friends who were standing nearby, not to look…He told him that Jesus was looking down upon them!!!

He decided to move the lantern, and see if that would cause Jesus to disappear. He moved the lantern to another location, but, when he looked back, Jesus was still hovering and looking downward at him!!! On the fourth look, he had vanished!!!

My hubby was scared out of his wits!!! He could barely wait to get out of there….
He came home and told me all that had happened…I told him that I felt this was Jesus warning him that he needed to obey him, and stop the sinful way of life which he was living at the time!!!

Sometime around the middle of the next week, my hubby had another strange experience. He was awakened by an angel standing beside his bed. This angel was dressed in white!!! He was terrified, once again!!!
He said chills went from the top of his head to the bottom of his toes, and he never received a wink of sleep that night, either!!! I told him once again, that I believed these were warnings to straighten him up, and that he needed to get into the House of God!!!

My hubby was kind of stubborn back in those days. Friday night had rolled around again, and he was determined to go to a pig roast, and spend the weekend drinking and partying with his friends!!!
I never will forget the night of October 9th, 1994…This was on a Saturday night of the week, in which, he saw the angel, and the week after he saw Jesus!!!

My hubby had gone to the pig roast, and it was getting pretty late, so, I decided to retire for the night. Our 10 year old son begged me to let him sleep with me, which, was very odd because he never-ever wanted to sleep with me…So, finally I gave in and told him he could!!!

I was awakened around 4AM in the morning by someone standing over me. It was a lady, and she was shaking me and telling me that my hubby had been in a horrible accident. At first, I thought I was having some horrible nightmare, and could not figure out why this lady was standing beside my bed and telling me these things. I soon found out that this was not a nightmare at all, but reality!!! She said that I needed to get to my local hospital as soon as possible…She said that my hubby was in horrible condition, and that I needed to hurry!!!

I never will forget the drive down to the hospital. I had to drive pass the truck which my hubby had wrecked and it was completely totaled!!!! I can remember our 10 year old son saying, “Mommy if Daddy was going to die, I think I would know it, don’t you?”
I can remember trying my best to reassure our little boy, but, knowing in my heart that it was a possibility!!!

I arrived about 20 minutes later, and they were still trying to stabilize my hubby!!! His face and head had taken the entire pact of the steering wheel when hitting the tree head-on!!! He also had terrible brasions on his face, and he was in some type of seizure or something…I don’t want to go into the gory details about his face, but, it sure didn’t look good for him!!!

I remember the doctors saying that they had to resuscitate him!!! I had never been sooo scared in all the days of my life…I walked outside the hospital, knelt down and begged God to spare my hubby’s life and not to allow him to have any brain damage!!! I had a cousin, who didn’t look nearly this bad, who had wrecked his car, and he suffered some pretty severe brain damage…To this day, he cannot walk!!!

I didn’t care who saw or heard me…None of that mattered…All that mattered was that God heard me, and nothing else!!! All pride factors were gone…Period…

They tried to get a helicopter from UK hospital, but, they were in the Red River Gorge Area rescuing someone who had fallen over a cliff…They tried to get a helicopter from West Virginia, but, when they had headed out, and the weather was sooo rainy, foggy and bad, that, they had to turn around and go back…You have to understand my hubby was sooo mangled, that our local hospital weren’t equipped to take care of him!!!

My hubby still had not been stabilized an hour later…The doctors were still working on him…That is what they told me…
I can remember the paramedics actually running to get him inside an ambulance to get him to the UK hospital in Lexington, Ky. They would not allow me to ride…They said he was too critical!!!

I remember me praying all the way to the UK hospital!!! I have never prayed sooo hard for someone in my entire lifetime...

Once we arrived at the hospital, my brother was the first to go into the emergency room and see my hubby…They had to pack him out…It was that horrible of a sight!!!

The first time that I really looked at him was in the emergency room…They gave me a suction thing, and asked if I would help keep the blood suctioned from his mouth…I will not go into any further detail, here, since, this is really just too gory…

My hubby’s diagnosis was…Every bone in his face was crushed at least once!!! Of course, there were other injuries, but, these were the ones which concerned the doctors the most!!!

I can remember them telling me that they didn’t have much hope for him…At this time, I still had no idea if he had suffered any brain damage…The doctors were sooo focused on just keeping him alive…Of course he had tubes up in nose, was on a ventilator, and had a trachea in his neck!!!!

Without sounding too gory, here…I would have to say that his head face and head was as large, if not larger than a basketball!!!

The doctors waited a couple of days before doing the surgery on his face…That was the longest 171/2 hours that I have ever lived through!!! No, I did not mistype it, it was that long…They had to reconstruct his entire face…The surgeon explained it like placing pieces of a puzzle together, even the fragments…

The moral of the story is....The tissues of my hubby’s brain had not even been touched by the impact…So no brain damage at all!!! An answer to my prayers!!!

Although he was far from out of the woods when he was released on October 22, 2004; I will have to say that God took excellent care of him!!! His face healed really well, and after a year of running to and fro for his check-ups, he was finally released from their care!!!

You would never know my hubby had been into an automobile accident, if I didn’t tell you!!! His face looks just as normal as yours and mine, with the exception of one scar, which, he nor I, are in the least concerned about…People who don’t know us, would never dream that he had suffered in a horrible accident!!!

His nurse in ICU came up and went to church with us, as promised!!! Every doctor, nurse, and staff member in that hospital said that he was a miracle!!!
He should not have even lived…He should have at least suffered some type of brain damage…His face should never have healed back to normal…The list just goes on and on and on…

We used to watch that TV show called “It’s A Miracle” and we talked many times about going on there with our story, but, we never did!!!

My hubby has attended church every since that day…No more partying and laying out with his buddies…He saw where God brought him from, and where he could have easily been…He serves the Lord faithfully now, and gives Him all the glory, honor, and praise!!!

BTW…I forgot to mention how I made it through that 171/2 hour reconstructive surgery…A lady called me and told me she saw my hubby in a vision in her living room while praying for him, and she said, “He is going to be fine!” I still get chills over this one!!! I clung to her vision and all the prayers which had gone up to Heaven…That is exactly how I made it through this horrible time in my life!!!

God is good!!! No doubt about that one!!! He is in the miracle working business today, just as He was yesterday!!! His power never changes!!! He is full of love and compassion for His children…He hears and He answers our prayers!!!

I pray that this story motivates at least one person on the forum!!!! It really was difficult typing this entire story out, and reliving those horrible images in my mind…I did it because I wanted God to receive all the glory, honor, and praise for He Is Worthy!!!

I also did it for those of you who feel forsaken and alone….God is there for you, and will always be there for you…He takes excellent care of His very own!!!

May God Richly Bless Each of You is My Prayer!!!

BTW...I forgot to mention how my hubby received help the morning he wrecked...He didn't even have a horn in his truck, yet, the neighbor who found him lying in the next door neighbor's yard, said that the sound of the horn is what awakened him!!! The horn just kept blowing, until, he finally went out to check what was going on, and found my hubby lying in the other neighbor's yard nearly gone!!!

We serve an Awesome God!!! God knows that this old beaten banged up truck never did have a horn, since, we owned it!!!!

Who but an angel of the Lord could have blown this horn????

All praise glory and honor goes to the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords...Jesus Christ of Nazareth!!!!

Shifrah.... I can not begin to tell how difficult it was typing all of this out!!! I can still see these imagines in my mind...I refrained from all the gory details, since, it would probably make some people sick, and this is not my attention!!!

My attention is to tell others...It is amazing what a prayer can do!!! And to let others know how much God loves each and every one of us...When we think things are going terribly for us...All we have to do is look around us, and see how Blessed we truly are!!!

Hi Ms. T,

Praise God! Alleluia!!! Jesus, Yeshua= God Saves! I am so glad that your husband repented. He must have a special calling, He may not know it but the Holy Spirit will prepare him for whatever purpose the Lord has for him.

I don't know how I missed this story last June.
But I did.
I read it the first time today. My vision is dim today but I got all the way through it.

God sure is good!!! That is such an eccouraging message.

It was at this time in June that I wasn't dong so well and my brother was fading also. He died June 27th. I guess that is why I missed this.

Thank you, Ms T, for sharing.

Until Ms T answers here, and she will, I can tell you about a book that will likely help you.

It is THE GIFT OF FORGIVENESS by Dr. charles Stanley.

I hope this helps.

Dear Cornflower, Thank you for your great assistance in suggesting that book by Charles Stanley!!!

rebekahleigh, We are to love others as we love our own self!!! The Bible says that no man hates his own flesh!!!

In this teaching, we find that we are to love ourselves as Christ has loved us!!!

He has removed our sins as far as east is from west never to be remembered no more!!!

When we have been forgiven by God, then, we have been freed from all of our sins!!! Therefore, our past sins are covered by the blood of Jesus, never to be remembered no more!!!

As Christ as forgiven us, so, ought we to also forgive our own selves and let go of the past, it's hurts and all of it's pains!!!

If you look in the mirror and look yourself in the eyes but you don't like the person you see, then you need to forgive yourself and learn how to love the person that God has made in you!!!

This is what we call a stronghold, or an incorrect thinking pattern that needs to be torn down in your mind!!!

If you have repented of your sins, and taken them before the Lord, and have been "born again" then you are forgiven... and now you need to come to realize the power of that!!!

You need to stop associating your failures with your "new creation" image, for God's Word says...

2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

Can you honestly look in the mirror and tell yourself, "I love you" and mean it with your heart???

I'm not talking about a prideful way, but a humble means of accepting who God has formed in you!!!

We need to love and accept the person that Christ has made in us, and forgive ourselves as Christ has forgiven us!!!

When you look inside, you hate yourself, you could kick yourself over and over for your past failures and choices!!!

You've came to Jesus and repented, but you haven't really accepted the truth about what Jesus has done for you yet!!!

You still feel ashamed and guilty over your past and you keep holding it against yourself!!!

The way you see yourself is not an accurate picture of what Christ has done for you!!!

It is basically denying the work that Jesus accomplished for you on the cross!!!

If your sins are forgiven, then you need to see yourself as separated from your sins... but no, the enemy will try to remind you of your past and continue to beat you up over sins that were supposed to be nailed to the cross!!!

You are wrapped up in guilt and condemnation my friend... and you NEED to forgive yourself!!!

You can go through deliverance, but if you don't forgive yourself for the mistakes you've made, you won't experience the breakthrough that you need to be totally set free!!!

When the recipient of a gift receives it gladly and with joy, the giver is glorified!!!

But when the recipient receives the gift, but ignores it, the giver is mocked, belittled and feels unappreciated!!!

When we fail to forgive ourselves, we are like a child who is given a trip to Disney World for Christmas, yet he keeps complaining that he can't go... even after his parents have already packed the car and are waiting on him to get in!!!

How would would you feel if you were that child's parents???

Wouldn't you feel sick inside, knowing that you spend all that money on this trip, the tickets, the hotel reservations, etc., and your son refuses to go because he doesn't believe that what you gave him was real????

Think how your heavenly Father feels when He looks down and sees His children walking around beating themselves up over things that He shed His blood so that they could be forgiven and set free from???

I believe it is clear that failing to forgive ourselves from our past mistakes is denying the work of the cross and the shed Blood of Christ in our lives!!!

When God's Word tells us that we've been washed clean with the Blood of Christ, and our sins are removed through the atoning work that Jesus did for us... yet we still "beat our own selves up for our mistakes, then we are basically saying, "I don't care what the Blood of Jesus has done, I still hate myself for what I've done!"

It's horrible to think such a thing, but that is what really happens when we refuse to forgive ourselves!!!

If you don't see yourself as a new creature in Christ, then you do have a problem!!!

You will be hindered and held back from freely and confidently living out who you really are in Christ!!!

You will be hesitant and feel unworthy to approach your Heavenly Father, because you feel you're a failure and unworthy... this is why it is necessary for your conscience to be cleansed your past failures!!!

Hebrews 9:14, "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"

Failing to forgive yourself will put blinders on your spiritual eyesight quickly!!!

It will cause you to see things through the eyes of guilt, shame and condemnation!!!

It will put a damper on your faith, and cause you not to be able to see clearly!!!

2 Peter 1:9, "But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins."

In the following verse, we are told to forgive one another!!!

Colossians 3:13, "Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."

I know this posting was a little long, but, I do pray this helps you to let go of your past and forgive yourself, even as Christ has forgiven you!!!

God Bless You!!!

I don't know why, but, I still don't feel like I have given you enough information on this posting!!!

I guess it is because it is soooo important for you to understand these things, so, you can forgive yourself and let go of your past and forgive yourself!!!

The only way that you can beat yourself up, after Jesus has paid your debt, is if you aren't accepting the gift that He has given you!!!

If He's paid the debt, and you keep denying that fact, then you are rejecting the very gift that God has given you!!!

You need to accept what Jesus has done for you by faith!!!

The price for your redemption has been paid in full!!!

It's up to you receive it and realize that the blood of Jesus actually removes the sin from your record!!!

Now you need to see yourself as being forgiven and justified (which means, "just as if you've never sinned").!!!

You need to let God heal you!!!

As long as you keep holding something against yourself, you are blocking the Holy Spirit's power from entering and healing that area of your mind and life!!!

You need to open up your heart, and allow the light of Christ to shine into the darkness of your soul!!!

Begin to see the new creature of Christ within you!!! If you have repented of your past, and sought God's forgiveness, and have been "born again" then you are forgiven or justified (which means "like you have never sinnedSmiler!!!

It is not that you should try to forget what happened, but, don't remind yourself of it either!!!

It is very important to see yourself through the Blood of Jesus!!!

You need to see your past as "paid in full" by the work that Christ did for you on the cross!!!

I think it would help you tremendously to say these words to yourself out loud on a regular basis...

2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

Say to yourself, "I am a new creation in Christ, old things have passed away and all things become new."

1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Say to yourself, "When I confess my sin, He is faithful and just and will forgive me it, regardless what kind of unrighteousness I may have committed."

Colossians 3:13, "Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."

Say to yourself, "I will love and forgive myself, as Christ has forgiven me."

Psalms 103:12, "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."

Say to yourself, "My sins are not simply covered, but they are removed from me... taken so far from me, that there is no way that they can be considered a part of me anymore!"

Revelations 1:5, "And from Jesus Christ, who... washed us from our sins in his own blood."

Say to yourself, "I am washed from my sins by the Blood of Christ Jesus Himself."

Say to yourself, "Because the Blood of Christ was shed for me, I am let go as if I have never sinned."

Romans 5:1, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Say to yourself, "I have been justified (made right, as if I have never sinned) by faith and have peace with God through my Lord Jesus Christ

Galatians 2:16, "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified."

Say to yourself, "I cannot be justified by works of the law or acts of righteousness, but by my faith in Christ Jesus."

Romans 3:22, "Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference."

Say to yourself, "Because I believe, the righteousness of God is upon me."

Hebrews 9:14, "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"

Say to yourself, "Because of the Blood of Christ, my conscience can be purged of dead works (your past failures) so that I can serve the Living God."

Hebrews 10:22, "...draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water."

Say to yourself, "Not only did God chose to forget my sins, but He also wants me to forget them as well. He wants me to draw near to Him with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, being sprinkled clean from an evil conscience."

Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

Say to yourself, "I am in Christ Jesus, and therefore free from condemnation."

I know this is a lot to read, but, I pray with all of my heart that it helps you beyond human understanding!!!

I do pray this helps you in the Name of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!!
