SPIRITUAL HUMOR:
If you could take any paticular problems (burdens) and put them in a metal box which you lock and then hand to God, list what you'd put in that box??????

When I was down one replier to my othe post reminded me about seeing myself hand my problems over to God. So, remembering the scripture that says to "throw your burden on God that he may sustain you" this is what I mentally make myself do. In my box I put in the very things that threw me into PTSD and my present worry and anger (about the situation). If something got out of the box, I'd chase it down, then stick it back in the box and lock it.

Then, after giving him the locked mental box he gives me a beautiful gift wrapped box. For me it contained "trust" & "hope."

If God where to give you a wrapped gift, what would it be?

Your turn,
1) What's in that metal box?
2) What's in that gift to you?

It takes self-discipline to do, but when I tried to mentally see this it helped me fight rather then give in to negative thinking as I stayed more spiritually focused.

Thanks everyone for your support.

'Something For God To Do' Box

I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help.

If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFGTD ('Something for God To Do') box. It will be addressed in My time, not yours. Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it.

If you find yourself stuck in traffic, don't despair. There are people in this world for whom driving is an unheard of privilege.

Should you have a bad day at work, think of the man who has been out of work for years.

Should you despair over a relationship gone bad, think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return.

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend, think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance, think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that walk.

Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror, think of the cancer patient in chemotherapy who wishes she had hair to examine.

Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough to get the opportunity.

Should you find yourself the victim of other people's bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities, remember, things could be worse. You could be them!!!!

Victoria, in my box are things like past hurtful memories, the worries I have for my children and my current physical illness but one things that's in there and has been in there since I was a little child and that's my entire life! So often I opened this box and go through all the old material I placed in there and I have to again, place those things in the box....
Isn't that life? Learning to LET GO of those things we have yet to understand? and trusting in a higher person to love and carry us through?

I thank God for Him! Especially today!!! I am finding that I am taking more time to think about those things that are MOST important in this life. I encourage everyone to focus on the positive in your life.... you are bound to find more than you ever realized!!

Good Morning SMears,
I really enjoyed your reply in its entirety!
You manifest an excellant way of looking at things. That is the best way to look at the positive things in our lives and put away the negative. And yes, if we take them out of the box to look at from time to time, we still replace them under lock. Looking at them occasionally can help us reflect on our endurance under adversity and the need to remember so the pain we felt can still be turned into empathy for others.
Wishing you the Best,
V.
