Here you go Lenore, from another one who has learned about life plus an excellent quote from a great leader:

"We do not want churches because they will teach us to quarrel about God. We do not want to learn that. We may quarrel with men sometimes about things on this earth, but we never quarrel about the Great Spirit. We do not want to learn that.

Heinmot Tooyalaket (Chief Joseph) of the Nez Percés, 1873

Miss seeing you but will catchup with you in chat sometime. On lunch break now and about ready to go back to work. Have a good one. Big Grin

"May God grant us the wisdom to discover right, the will to choose it, and the strength to make it endure."

Me being the curious one of everything that I quote or see written on the internet went a little further into the quote I posted above to double check it in case it wasn't something that the chief said. I do this because I like to quote fact not fiction.

There "is" more to the quote above, in fact it came from a conversation between Chief Joseph and a govenment agent. Here you go:
----------------------------------
"Kill the Indian and save the man." Richard Henry Pratt. “The following conversation was recorded in the late 1800s between Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe and one of the government commissioners who was trying to convince Chief Joseph of the advantages of having a government funded school located on the agency.

"Why do you not want schools?" the commissioner asked.
"They will teach us to have churches," Joseph answered.
"Do you not want churches?"
"No, we do not want churches."
"Why do you not want churches?"
"They will teach us to quarrel about God [translated Great Spirit in other places]," Joseph said. "We do not want to learn that. We may quarrel with men sometimes about things on this earth, but we never quarrel about God. We do not want to learn about that.".

What the Native Americans wanted was the ability to teach their own children their own ways without government interference. Not only was the government wanting to control their lands, their food and their belongings, but they wanted to change the lifestyles of the "savages" so they would be "civilized" like the white man.”

--------------------------
And the website the article was written on:

There ya go...have a great night to all. Work comes early so heading to sleep.

"May God grant us the wisdom to discover right, the will to choose it, and the strength to make it endure."

I think a weekly prayer group is a great idea. I know that when I go to church I feel so much better but of course if I feel the anxiety coming on I do not go and then I feel guilty. I do pray and talk to God but not as much as I should. So, of course I carry a lot of guilt about that also.

Hi Joyce

I can certainly see where you are coming on this subject. I have found the more I am involved with God and his word the better and calmer I feel. I recently lost a 3 day old grandson, and I can honestly say that 6 months ago I could not have dealt with this at all. But thanks to God and his glory, he comforted me. I pray you find comfort and share with others so we can grow and help others grow as well. Keep up the good work.

I am so glad I found this forum! I am a christian and believe in the power of prayer. I pray everyday some days all day to help me get through my anxieties. I hope to join you on a Sunday real soon, how great it is to know that God will be there with us as He promises "when 2 or more are gathered in His name He will be there also."
May God Bless everyone of you!
