Well, I'm gonna ask for prayer to find work. I believe in prayer and believe God will make a way. My main problem is motivation. i guess I am afraid of rejection and getting the wrong job (again). I am on session 5 so I am starting to understand that I have a lot of negative thinking and high expectations that have hardly ever been met and this has lead to more negative thinking and fear of failure and rejection. I quit my last job because sales were low and the situation was boring and depressing. I was even starting to get suicidal thoughts. Maybe this is the back of my mind also. I thought God was leading me to teach last year but I have had no success in this endeavor. Either He has other plans for me or the timing is not right yet. Either way, I will run out of money in less than 3 weeks, so my fear is that I will have to deliver pizza or worse just to survive. Maybe that would not be so bad. Keep in mind that I am 50 and have an MBA and my car is acting up lately, so pizza delivery would not be the easiest thing to do. Well, anyway, please pray for me. I appreciate it and I look forward to seeing how God meet this need. I will praise Him for His love and grace.

SCDon,
Lord Jesus, I ask you to show your child where to go for work, I know that everything is done by you in dew time. I ask you to bless this person with a job but not just any, one that you have given to them and you want them at. No matter what show them that you gave it to them and let them be thankful for it. Lord I ask you to guide them to the right people and the right people to them. I ask you to let them know to rely on you Lord and to see that you are in control even if it seems like it is pushing it time wise. I ask you to show them to be grateful for everything you are doing and to then bless them with the blessings that you want them to have. Lord I ask of you this in your mighty name, amen. Don't worry things are always in dew time and the Lord knows what you need. I know that when I needed a job the Lord gave me one and the exact time that I needed it. God bless you! Jennifier |

My husband has been out of work since Dec. and his unemployment benefits will end in about 2 or 3 weeks. He is 51 and we have the same concerns as you. I am responding to your post to let you know that I am praying for you as well as my husband. We also believe God has something great in store for us. Please include us in your prayers and let us know how things work out and I will do the same. Thanks to all for the prayers and encouragement. Darla |

Hi SCDon, My husband and I are patiently waiting for God to "make a move" in a specific area in our lives and I have been studying the word "patience" in his holy "word". I'd like to share a few scriptures with you
"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength;they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint". Isaiah 40:31 NKJV "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him'do not fret" Psalm 37:7 SCDon, this is my FAVORITE "These things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. I it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue A SINGLE DAY!" Habakkuk 2:3 LB "I wait expectantly, trusting God to help, for he has promised". Psalm 130:5 LB "I am the Lord; no one who waits for my help will be disappointed" Isaiah 49:23 GNT "God makes EVERYTHING hppen at the right time". Ecc 3:11 CEV "Entrust your ways to the Lord. Trust him,and he will act on your behalf. Psalm 37:5 GWT "But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Saviour;my God will hear me" Micah 7:7 Again, I am praying for you! I can't wait to hear about your new job God bless you "I'm not who I think I am and I'm not who YOU think I am, I am who God KNOWS I am" John Hagee |

living_4_the_future,
Girl, God hears your prayers. You just have to wait for God's timing not ours alone. Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you today on behalf of all that are looking for jobs. I ask you to bless them with the right jobs at the right time. Lord I ask you to give all these people patience while waiting for you to move. I thank you for all that you do. Thank you Lord for blessing all those people with the jobs that will help support their families. I know that you provide for all of our families, as you will for any need that we may have. Lord I thank you in your mighty name, Lord Jesus, amen. God bless all of you.... Jennifier |

Don,
You are a good friend. You and I have chatted a many times in the room. I too believe God will find an answer for you and have already prayed that he will help you and all the others in here looking for work. I know you have it in you Don to finish this program. Just by doing this program it's a positive step forward for you and your life. God works in mysterious ways my friend, I am not sure what type of sales you do, but the next time we chat, we can go over some ideas. God will Bless you my friend. He loves you and will always stand beside you. Zoe |

Wow. I kinda forgot to check here the last few days. Your love and compassion have humbled me. I had to go to my bedroom and kneel down to thank Him for your prayers and encouragement and for His work. I cried those, "Thank you for loving me God", tears.
The preacher said last month that our prayers are more powerful than we know. Even while we are praying, God is moving. There is a chorus that means a lot to me when I see a glimpse of God moving. It goes kinda like this. Just in time, just in time, once again the water turns to wine, just about the time I couldn't need it anymore, I get a little glimpse of Heaven, just in time. I am relying on the Lord to help me find a job as well. I thought I had the perfect situation lined up, but it was taken away yesterday. I keep thinking that there has to be something better out there for me. It is the only way I will make it through this.
Good luck to all of you in your job search. This too will pass. _________________________ "For as he thinkest in his heart, so is he" (Prov. 23:7) Best wishes, Teri |

Zoe (Life man) and Teri (headhorn lady) and everyone else,
I sold furniture (sofa, chairs, bedrooms, mattresses, etc) for 5 years. Then one Friday, I was let go. I went to other stores but no success. It was hard to try to explain why they let me go. I did not agree with what the manager said, but what can you do? I finally took a job selling cell phones. It stank. I quit April 15. I have tried to find something but I never try very hard and I get very put off easily. I blame it on God. I know that is wrong, so I feel guilty and blame myself for being lazy, afraid and without faith. I feel at a loss but I must get a job soon to pay rent for July and gas and food, etc. I have peace that GOd will provide but time is running very short indeed. I don't think I want to stay in sales or even retail. Trying to get a temp teaching job has not worked. Monster, Careerbuilder, etc have only yielded limited results and none have panned out. One temp place may a project soon but I am on hold and my contact was on vacation last week. Most other temp places have not responded to my e-mails. I feel almost blacklisted. I know that is not the case. With my resume, it screams problem here. Overqualified, can't find a life, must be whacko. What's wrong with this guy. He's old too and schooling was a long time ago. So, I am looking for what amounts to a mighty work of God. I have seen him working to help me fight the anxiety and depression. I know He is working. I just can't hear Him and I don't trust my judgement anymore. The chatroom is helping me stay afloat emotionally and I appreciate all the good feedback I get from you guys. So, this will have to be some week or so. God knows His plans. Plans to give me a hope and a future. Thank you Father in advance cause you are all I have. Thank God He is all I need. i will keep you guys in the loop and in my prayers. |

Hey everyone, As Don knows I am in the same situation. I also am looking for the right job and really want God to direct me to the right situation. I have no idea what that is but trust that God does. I would appreciate it very much if you all would include me in your prayers as well. I will keep you in mine. Thank you all and God Bless.

Thanks for all your prayers and words of encouragement. God answered our prayers and my husband started his new job toay. He had been out of work since Dec. and God has sustained us. We are so grateful. Again, thanks to everyone. This forum is truly a place to get help. I also posted a request in the parent section for advice on dealing with adult children...I appreciate your responses.
Thanks, Darla |
