I need Help.. I'm having a hard time with journaling anything and reconiziing a negative thought. Any help would be great. I'm stuck in session 3 , but dont want to give up. Should i just go on to session 4? Thanks MB44

if it is not nice uplifting or make u feel good
about yourself or some one else. it is negative. in a situation u will pick out the negative (bad) instead of the good or postive aspect of the situation. or what is the worse that can happen |

A negative thought fits these three criteria:
1. It is not true. 2. It is not reasonable. 3. It is not rational. As for going on to Session 4, did you do all your homework? My opinion, you need to do all the homework here. This is a hinge sesssion, as Carolyn and Lucinda say. Your success in later sessions hinges on your understanding this one. I spent nearly two weeks on three. A lot of people extend time here. |

I also spent 2 weeks on this lesson. You really need to keep a log of any negative thoughts you have and practice writing the replacement positive statement. This helped me to recognize my negative statements and made me feel better when I could come up with a positive replacement thought. Keep listening to the tape/cd for lesson 3. I listened to it about 8 times in the 2 weeks. I really wanted to get a firm grasp on the material. I also did the homework in the workbook twice. I read the infor mation in section week several times. This really is a crucial session. I think Lucinda really explains what negative thoughts are and how to recognize them. Don't give up now! You have the power to change. I know that already, because you have come this far, keep going! |

I did the lesson 3 homework,but i did not recognize to write down negitive thoughts nor did i journal. I ended up listening to session 4,but plan on going back to lesson 3 next week. Thanks for your support.
