I get so nervous with public speaking (even in front of a couple of people) that my heart starts pounding; I can't think straight, my voice shakes etc. I get nervous for other people as well. I was so nervous for Sara Palin the other night. I took a public speaking course and I have given some awesome speeches to large family crowds. (Over 100 people.) But when it comes to work or in front of friends I just start hyperventilating. Just the thought of being asked can shake me up. Any suggestions?

I found that the programs helped me with this a lot--because I found myself less concerned Smilerwith making mistakes, etc.
However, there is an "effective speaking" subliminal tape from Bob Griswald/Love tapes (more info here)that you might wanna check out when you get a chance. i borrowed it from the library -- i don't know if it's still available. You may find it or something like it more helpful after you get through the Midwest program at least once--or it might be a good supplement. i definately don't recommend doing this instead of the program--it's less complete, in my opinion.

I took a one on one public speaking course. It was great. The person suggested that I take this course because of my anxiety. I have a meeting tomorrow with a group of my peers, and I am so concerned that my voice is going to shake and my eyes are going to tear that my chest hurts me now. It is so crazy. Anyone who meets me thinks that I am this very successful business person, which I am, but this is holding me back from reaching the sky. When I feel good my performance is awesome, otherwise :-(
