This is kinda technical but interesting. My hubby is in a graduate level class on Psychology. They just learning about something called "Spontaneous Recovery." Contrary to what is sounds it is spontanceous recovery of all your symptoms. This is your body's way of testing to see if your "well". If you handle this setback in a positive way your body will then return to its previous state of "calm" If you handle it poorly your body will tend to stay in that elevated sense of anxiety and panic. So this is one more reason to keep practicing your positive way of handling stress.
