Hi! I confess I haven't been on this web-site in a long time. I strongly believe in the concepts though and that's why I'm here. My father recently fell down a flight of stairs 3 weeks ago breaking his neck and inducing a whole host of other conditions. I am the only the child, have three small children of my own and also have an elderly mother to deal with. I need this program now more than ever. I want to be able to handle this situation as best I can. I know the concepts taught are good ones but my emotions are just really cloudy at the moment. Any guidance or encouragement would be appreciated.

{{{{{Nancy}}}}} You sure have a lot of stressful things in your life right now. I'm glad you're using the skills. Please remember to take time for yourself to listen to the relaxation tape, journal, rest, etc. I'm sure it feels like you don't have the time, but you will be able to help your loved ones more if you are calm and centered.
For me, the things I need to do for myself are the first to go when I get stressed. The problem is that this is always the worst thing I can do. I just get more and more stressed whereas if I was using the skills, I'd be able to calm down and take things more in stride. So please, take time to take care of yourself. Julie |

I don't know why but I hadn't gotten out the tapes again until I read your reply. Right now, I'm really focusing on "Keeping Stress from Becoming Anxiety". I didn't realize how much I had forgotten. Thanks for your response. Nancy |
