Hi everyone!

I have just had the most challenging two days in years!

My new job had a separate class for training me in order to become assistant manager

This two day class took place from midnight until 8:30 am. NOT my bodies clock hours at all.

I don't know about all of you, but since I've had anxiety and have been on anti-anxiety medication, I have a set routine to feel my best.

When I first heard about this class I have to confess w/ all of the tools I have, my anxiety was pretty high. I knew better, and I was not going to let it stop me though. The bottom line was fear of not being able to cope when I was out of my element.

The first day, I had to reset my body clock to try and get some sleep during the day. I listened to the relaxation tape over and over for four times. I practiced my breathing and I talked myself to peaces. I had a panic attack and worked thru that. I ended up NOT getting ANY sleep. However, I had so much adrenaline going thru me, I just attended the class feeling the way I did. I accepted how I felt and if I had any body symptoms I would have told them to come along! I didn't have ONE. I knew in my heart I had to get thru this. I took alot of notes and I survived. On the way home I bought a voice activated tape recorder! A great tool!

I was also exhausted and got some sleep. Thank goodness! For the next day, I was prepared w/my recorder, tapes all labeled and in order, along w/ my note pad. It went great!!!

I will have to do this shift once a month now as part of my job. I now know that I CAN do it!

What was interesting to me besides the class were the little things like, driving while the moon and stars helped light my way. It was beautiful! I hadn't stayed up all night since I was in my late teens...

I am proud of myself and just wanted to share my accomplishment. I owe it to this program for helping me have a career in something I love!

Many thanks to all of you!
Diane

You are showing awesome courage! I like the part about driving while the moon and stars lighted the way. Thank you so much for your post. Going through the program is courageous enough, but LIVING the program is the reward for all your hard work. I wish you continued success! Tammy

Diane! Congrats!!! Isn't it great...that feeling of accomplishment...when you look at fear in the face and say "You aren't going to get to me!"! I'm so happy for you! Here's a pat on the back for you! Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Dear Bakedpears, Kristen, and Cindy,

Today is my first day off since the training began last Wednesday! Whew! Now, I have 4 days off to forget it all!lol! My brain has taken in so much info and is still absorbing it! Now, to put what I have learned into practice, as with any new job and well worth it!

Something else I observed, was that I honestly didn't have any time, for an anxious thought. Talk about liberating!!!

Thank you all for your kind words. All of you have made this reward possible!

Hugs to all!
Diane
